I’m really excited about him. Between him, White, Baskerville, Sampah, and maybe Clark/ Webb (depending on if they stay at LB), this will be a heated position battle

I don't know, but I saw an article this morning where a Mississippi HS coach thought he was a better LB prospect than Nakobe Dean in 2019. So, that's big praise.

It's on The Athletic by Brody Miller. Nice read on the kid

Athletic Article
Sun Herald Article

The second one comes with one of my favorite quotes from a defender:
quote:

“It feels good to take life out of another man and not get in trouble for it,” Strong said.

Yes, if he wins the spot. No, if he doesn't.

Pretty sure they arent taking a JUCO in this situation to ride the pine.

He can absolutely play, 100+ tackles his freshman year in 10 games and 60 tackles in 6 games this year.

I think he's a day 1 starter assuming Cox is gone. I think he's probably better than Clark and Baskerville too.

The way Clark has been playing, yes. If Cox leaves, also yes. The great thing to see is that this kid essentially comes in as a sophomore in terms of his eligibility. Nice pick up in that regard.

If I had to guess, yes. Have you seen play at that position this year? I would literally take any starting MLB in the SEC (from Vandy-Bama) over no18 we have.

I believe under a new DC Clark could return to his previous trajectory before Pelini showed up on campus.

Since Pelini will get canned then I have to assume with a new DC that he will just start with a level playing field compared to the other guys who return next year. So he just has to win the battle in camp, no spot is promised

Normally I would say yes to this but he is a Juco guy with 4 years to play 3. Not as pressing to get him on the field as a usual Juco. With that said he will play a ton even if he isn’t the starter.

Fair point. Clark was my number one breakout player before this year started. Gotta love how that prediction worked out...

Hasn't Clark returned to his 19 season form the last three games.
I haven't checked the stats, but coach commented on his radio show, and I have noticed he has been more active/involved lately.

Well, he got lost on a goal line play for a TD and got juked on another red zone play that got them to the 1.

He did make a good play on a swing pass to the RB and looked decent in coverage. Only plays I remember of him though.

Looked slightly better but still lost and/or timid on running plays.
