Why the talk about the lack of arm strength with Scott?

looks like he can sling it down field just judging from his vertical route section on his highlights. He also has a very quick release and is always looking for options to go to while scrambling. I don't know if he compares to Wilson like some say, but he reminds me of the qb from Texas tech that everyone was saying they wanted after the bowl game.

His arm strength is plenty good enough for college. Not elite but good enough. He's going to make lot of people eat their words.

How does his arm strength compare to Anthony Jennings in your opinion?

Scott has zip on his passes. AJ throws a pretty deep ball sometimes, but puts too much air and not enough velocity on his passes.

It's not great, but he has awesome ball placement to make up for it. You don't have to have an NFL arm to succeed in college.

I agree, but that's not really true under Les Miles at LSU. His best QB's all had NFL caliber arm talent.

The highlights that i saw were not concerning in the slightest. I saw solid arm strength, pretty quick release, and athleticism for days. He's not the greatest passer in the world but he is no slouch. Very glad we got him.

I've always thought Jennings floats shorts passes.

I haven't seen any talk (other than this thread) about lack of arm strength. Quite the opposite actually. Where are you seeing ALL of this talk?

In the spring game

Correct, he floats all of his passes. When he tries to put heat on them, they get away from him. In contrast, Harris guns all of his passes, if he'd take something off of them he'd be more accurate in the short passing game. Maybe McMillan is the perfect mix of the two.

he doesnt need a cannon if he can make the routine 10-25yd passes and throw them accurately then ill take that instead of him being able to throw 75yds

Is this a serious question?

Accuracy for short and medium range passes + solid running game + LSU D = no need for Hail Mary arm strength.
