OK, I may take some heat for this, and I'm not defending Saban, but didn't Alabama hire him to win NC's? I think many of you are blinded by your hatred of him, but he wouldn't do this if the powers that be at Alabama weren't OK with it. They took 7 Alabama recruits - that's SEVEN. They're not beholden to Alabama kids anymore.

They (meaning the UA university, boosters, most fans) are not worried about hurting some kid's feelings who was a lifelong Bama fan. Winning is more important than anything, and the stakes rise every year. As long as it doesn't get them in NCAA trouble, anything is fair game.

It's probably not just Bama. With recruits pulling stunts on NSD, this is a response to this. Don't trust me, and I won't trust you. In Bama's eyes, the recruit they picked up over the one they dumped may be the one that helps them win another NC.

This is getting deep, but it's indicative of a lot of dynasties. Ancient Greece, Rome, the British Empire, Germany in WW2, etc. The pressure to continue victory causes a mindset where anything goes to continue to dominate. Then all of a sudden, everything comes crashing down. It's simply not sustainable. I'm sure Bama fans will disagree with me, but this day will come when Saban retires.

LSU fans can tell you all about Satan... I mean Saban. He is all about Nicky baby.. LSU wins a NC and suddenly he is the King of the NFL. Then he stunk the place up in Miami because grown men don't put up with the . @

Leslie... crazy and all is genuinely concerned for the student athlete. He has moments of insanity but the guy's integrity is without question. His decisions we could debate all day but his integrity is solid!

Saban is a huge douche about it, and does it way more than anyone else, but this is a college football problem, not a Bama problem exclusively.

Until coaches are forced to only hand out 25 offer letters, this story will keep popping up.
