This is more for the casual follower of recruiting (I am somewhere between a casual and serious follower of recruiting), the occasional visitor as opposed to most of the frequenters of this board.

The SEC has 4 of top 5 classes in 2019, 10 of the top 20, 11 of the top 25. Only Mizzou is outside of the top 25 at # 45 ETA: forgot about Kentucky @ #31 and Vandy @ #51

1 - Alabama
2 - Texas A&M
3 - Georgia
4 - Oregon
5 - LSU
6 - Clemson
7 - Texas
8 - Oklahoma
9 - Michigan
10 - Florida State
11 - Auburn
12 - Ohio State
13 - Notre Dame
14 - Penn State
15 - Tennessee
16 - Arkansas
17 - Ole Miss
18 - South Carolina
19 - Mississippi State
20 - Washington
21 - Nebraska
22 - N.C. State
23 - Miami
24 - Florida
25 - Purdue

And based on the number of commits, those could shift. If LSU holds who they have committed and adds another top player, the SEC could end up with the top 4 classes, 3 in the SEC west.

Ole Miss, Arkansas, Soith Carolina, and likely even MS State will fall out of the top 25 by the end.

For all those people who poo-poo'ed Jimbo Fisher's being a recruiting threat at aTm when he was first hired.

They will not end at that rank. Probably around 10th

There'll be lots of movement between now and Early Signing Day and some ESD and NSD.

There are 14 teams in the SEC now

So Vandy, Kentucky would join Mizzou on that list

He’s recruting well, but it’s A&M... Sumlin didn’t have trouble getting recruits there. They also have 24 committs, and will likley drop a few spots.

I don't remember one person poo pooing Jimbo's recruiting ability. He was good enough at it that FSU had to be at the very least the 2nd most talented team in the ACC.

Now his coaching the last few years didn't convince anyone that they were that talented but they were.

It's a well balanced class too. Of course, they don't have a top flight QB and without one, Jimbo's offense doesn't work. Mond is okay but the rest of the roster is not very stout at that position and the guy they have coming in makes no sense to me. He's a 3 star, completes less than half of his passes in high school and only threw 12 Tds and 1200 yards in 10 games. Plus he's no running threat either.

What we WON’T see is A&M finishing at #2.

Pretty good feeling you have no idea how these ratings work. A&M at #2 ONLY because they have 24 commits already. We are at #5 with just 20 commits. A&M will be passed up by several others.

their class is already done... they have 25, many can jump them... its a good class but the other guy is right, they will prob go to 7-9 though, not 10... close enough..

Fisher definitely out-recruiting Herman in Texass. 17/24 aTm recruits are from Texass and Herman has 11/20.

Currently, Fisher has 11 of the Top 30 in Texass committed and Herman has 3.

Oklahoma has 5 of the top 30 committed currently.

Ohio St., UGA, Illinois, LSU, Notre Dame and Stanford have 1 each.

5 are undecided with only one leaning to Herman.

* used 247 Composite.

To be fair this was Herman's first class last year.

It was ranked 3rd in the country.

Um.. no.

A&M will fall a good bit. Maybe to like #8 or #9.

There are plenty big schools with a lot of holes to fill. These rankings will look much different at the end. LSU would have ended 8-10 if we hadn't gotten Emery.

Georgia or Bama will get #1, but it's looking like it will be Georgia. LSU will stay top 5 if we land Sopsher.
