Some of the rankings are a little weird. Consider 247's evaluation of Quinn vs Sims:
XXXXXX Quinn Sims
Size-- ----8 ---9
Speed- ----9 ---6
Hands- ----8 ---8
Ball Sk ---8 ---8
Route- ----8 ---7
Agilit ----8 ---7
Chg Dir ---7 ---7
YAC--- ----8 ---7
The only thing Sims has on Quinn by their published ratings is a little more height. However, Quinn is ranked 39 spots lower overall and 4 spots lower by position. Those 2 inches or so mean a lot.

CamdenTigerWhy isn't Trey Quinn ranked higher? And Largent is in the Hall of fame....There's more than speed that sets people apart. This kid seem to have the "it" factor. Call it desire, or whatever, he just makes plays.
This is true, but I don't like to limit a kid in a comparison, even if the comparison is a compliment.
Its like when everyone compared LeBron to MJ. Humbling comparison but the better one was Magic because of the attribute of being so unselfish. So, by just comparing LBJ to MJ, you gloss over his best trait as a player. So yes, as a former WR myself, I love Largent. But when I am comparing great WRs, something separates them. I would compare TQ more to Isaac Bruce/Torry Holt. Both were smooth, were superb route runners and had great speed. Either way, I think as fans, we are going to be happy with TQ if he approaches any of these comparisons.

Trey is a great player and will be special. Sometimes, I think players are evaluated by using potential. Meaning some players have a higher upside. Trey plays on a team that throws the ball a lot and he is the main target. Some of these other guys might be on teams that run more. They look at body types and if they think that they will grow bigger or get faster. Trey is fast already, but he might be maxed out in height. But he is plenty tall enough. But if you look at the big tall, strong and fast receivers in the NFL right now. Trey will never grow into that type of frame.

Why isn't Trey Quinn ranked higher than he is in the National Services Rivals #104, 247 #128. You would think with the stats he has and the intangibles he would be ranked higher
I'm curious to see what he can do without DeSean Smith on his team. A lot more attention can be given to Quinn because he is gone.

I met TQ at a baseball game at Barbe. If he's 6'2, I'm Ronald Reagan.

I see the Great One, Jerry Rice, fast, smooth, route running, great hands, touch down producing machine. A man can dream.

Quinn is the kind of receiver you can go to on 3rd and 8 with 2 minutes left in the 4th. I don't care what he is ranked. He will be invaluable in the slot.

The only thing Sims has on Quinn ....is an Alabama "offer"
You know that always counts for a boost. Guess we'll see soon what kind of offer that is, too.

Did he finally get it this week? I thought he wanted to go to a spread team?

an "offer" to get C.R. to commit, with him, we believe.

I'm skeptical of that 40 time. Just doesn't look THAT fast on tape. But still fast nonetheless
Don't be, his speed is legit.

Quinn could dunk in trhe 8th grade....don't know where they got the 32" VJ...they need to fix this
IsaacBrown2 makes an excellent point...white skill guys are going thru what the black QB endured in the 70's & 80's... SE Recruiting expert Tom Lemming made mention of this... & ask Les Miles about his conversation w Quinn.
ESPN surprisingly shows Quinn much respect ranking him #3 WR in U.S. + # 37 Overall
Entering Sr year of HS Quinn is roughly the same size as Jarvis Landry....by the time he is slicing & dicing up SEC Defense's he will be bigger.
Also mentioned here & true...popular Code Words..."Polished" WR = White....Potential/Upside = Black...
Quinn can play inside in the slot OR on the outside
Not every NFL WR is 6'-4"...
If Quinn would have gone to a Bama Summer Camp they should have offered...but he is not a QB so I'm not so sure.

Of course Quinn doesn't look that fast...LMAO!
Neither did Ryan Swope after he ran a 4.34 at the NFL Combine....uhhh but he he doesn't play that fast...uhhh FAST ENOUGH to catch a total 21 PASSES vs LSU & Bama....
Uhhh let me guess he got dat sneaky speed...or the politically correct deceptive speed!

He does lack some size as far as being a top recruit. It would be nice to have him 6'3" or above with longer arms. He could also be bigger like a Calvin Johnson or Andre Johnson. That is being overly critical though. Quinn is very productive. I am just speculating as to why he might not be ranked higher.
