Who exactly on our staff is known for developing D linemen and putting them in the NFL? A third year FBS d line coach and another guy straight from FCS? Texas has Bo Davis and OU has Todd Bates. Also who was the last great D linemen LSU put in the NFL? Danielle Hunter? Just saying what’s likely being used against us in recruiting. Not to say they shouldn’t come because Kelly had some great D lines at Notre Dame and it’s still LSU.

People love to scream this... actually its not early. The early signing period changed that years ago. Its much harder on the staff to recruit in-season. Im sure they would prefer to lock up big targets before August. 50% of the 34 5-stars have already committed and it seems like we're only in the race for one of them (Simmons).
Perkins is the only elite prospect that we've been able to grab late in the process.

It's over! We should just cut are ties recruiting for 2024. ANARCHY!!!!!! LOL

I'm not saying this is the reason but I would've liked kelly to hire a different d line coach

Y’all know that the school they just visited is usually the favorite…..until the next visit.
Big Saturday night in Death Valley, and he’ll know it’s where he should be.

This is very true, but will change soon as we have some really good DL going to be high draft picks.

These are the Defensive Lineman drafted from Texas and OU combined since 2015 when Danielle Hunter was drafted.

BJ just went in the second round, and Mason, if he stays healthy is a likely 1st round pick, Wingo could easily work his way into the second round with a strong season.
The NFL is littered with starters on the defensive line. I just counted 12. No school in the country besides maybe Alabama can say the same. To say that Hunter is the only one is just ignorant.
I hate to think about what-ifs, but if we had Maason last year, BJ's production goes way up and likely puts him in top 5 consideration along with his measurables.
We have a quite a few young guys who could continue the long line of exceptional defensive line-men at LSU.
As far as Jimmy Lindsay is concerned, would I have liked a higher profile D-line coach ? Sure, but Lindsay is a coach whos best days are ahead of him, and he has the unique opportunity take guys like Wiggins, Howard, and Womack and develop then into guys who will play on Sunday.
By all accounts he's exactly the kind of guy who will be here for a number of years and give us the consistency on the d-line from a coaching perspective that we haven't had for quite awhile.
I see our defensive line as a strength heading into this season, and it certainly isn't a position group that is going to give other programs ammunition to negatively recruit against us.
What team are you even watching ?

I asked his Dad about the Big Pool Party event and he said he was unaware if Dom was even going to event, he hasn't been contacted about going as he usually travels with Dom on trips, so LSU really is not in lead for him at this time. Dad said Dom is more concerned with academics than playing time as it stands right now. LSU needs to step it up to get back in lead.

Now do LSU so he can really feel like the dumbass that he is.

I'm starting to feel like you're similar to others around here who have claimed to have "inside info."
If you can't tell, that's me politely accusing you of being full of shite.

If McKinley commits to LSU after the pool party/bbq at Kelly's house, will you leave the recruiting board and never come back ?
And if he doesn't will you do the same? In all these threads where the "rational" are trying to pull us "sky fallers" off the edge, you're the one resorting to emotional responses instead of logical ones. See its what those without facts to back their statements do when flustered. Attack.
So if Mckinley hasn't committed to us by say end of August(month after party) you're gone, right? Guessing you'll say you meant to say in December he'll sign with LSU or resort to more emotional outbursts instead of facts. Give you an easy one, name 1 LSU insider that actually believes LSU leads for Mckinley?(hint I'm on all sites so I know the answer before you go searching for it?) Bunch of "it's only July and believe in Frank to pull it out in december" is what you'll find. Echo chamber reads like Twitter during covid. Cult-ish really.

I mean, it's not like the board would miss out on your level headed and conscientious posting anyways.
Or how bout a ban bet ? I'll take LSU vs the field ? Since you're so certain we're only after 3 stars and have no chance in getting McKinley, put your money where your mouth is.
Y'all always talk about people swapping teams or leaving the message board.
Relax Karen,it was a joke.

So, LSU hasn't contacted the Top DL in La for this event.

Yeah, ok

I mean it isnt great, but LSU switched to a 3-4 right around then and totally changed their ID along the defensive line
Davon Godchaux
Rashard Lawrence
Tyler Shelvin
Neil Farrell
Andre Anthony
Jaquelin Roy
And then you have edge players like Arden Key, KLavon Chaisson, BJ Ojulari.
Once Aranda got in, the talent shifted more to LB's, as that was his focal point of the defense.
The DL's that were once high picks turned into LBs (Devin White, Chaisson, Patrick Queen, Key, Ojulari,)

Of course he wont. You know these hypocritical bastards like to play to the board for approval.
I give my opinion, just like you do.
It's like you can't say anything negative only positive.

Generally speaking, not all Louisiana recruits are going to be great fits for LSU. Could be academics, character concerns, athletic projection or bad parents. There are a lot of reasons LSU may not be in the hunt for a particular athlete aside from the athlete themselves looking for a home outside the state. We typically never hear about recruit issues unless it’s legal and a matter of public record.
