Not really that nice of a city outside of the campus. Living not too far from there I know firsthand what goes on in the area.

In recruiting O chased Koy down like a beagle on a rabbit. He's safely in this class.

No it doesn’t... LSU is taking the best talent seriously.. only people who have never left Louisiana think coach o gives a shite where a player went to high school

You don’t burn a bridge with a school by taking a more talented player elsewhere.. even high school coaches know talent is above everything else... who cares what high school they played at

When Jabbar Juluke was fired, the New Orleans coaches threw a hissy fit and it almost became a national story until Mickey Joseph was quickly hired for a sinecure position.

We are not dropping New Orleans prospects under any conditions besides an arrest or expulsion.

Is there someone on staff at UVA with LA connections? They have a few LA commits this year.

That wouldn’t have been a National story... why would anyone in the nation care about high school football coaches in New Orleans? Keep up with this class and the next year. Won’t be too many Nola recruits because it doesn’t matter where you are from it matters how talented you are. With the exposure you get being number 1 it allows you to recruit nationally at the expense of losing in state kids... you think recruits from Louisiana in 3 or 4 years will remember that a Nola kid got cut from the class? No.. they will remember all the stars and plays from this season...

It was already becoming a national story as the race card was already starting to get played with regards to Juluke being dismissed.

That’s why the staff immediately went out and hired Joseph.

As for Jenkins, my understanding is he was looking around already. Different from the Alec Bryant situation and with Burns. Also it happened early enough in the year that it was before national guys stated flirting with LSU.

You can’t argue with crazy man... it was never at any point becoming anything more then local Louisiana news. I don’t think you understand the amount of crazy things/events that happen in the world on a daily basis to make up the national news. Bigger fish to fry for the media then Louisiana and NOLAs coaches. Have you ever left Louisiana or the country?

Like I said before we’ve got more recruits available to us then previously.. local gets are going to get less and less offers if we are to sustain this level of success. That’s just something you will have to get used to.

It took me less than two minutes to find this story on USA Today High School Sports:

Are New Orleans coaches really considering a boycot of LSU recruiting?

He doesn't mean it was going to lead the national news, but it was a bigger deal than you remember.

When he sees their facilities and their liberal ways of the university he will run.

“ Yet in the hours after SEC Country’s story first came to light, officials from Landry-Walker (which had two top prospects commit to Kansas over the weekend) reached out to the news outlet to alert they would not take part in the meeting. Then two other New Orleans coaches spoke to the city’s ABC affiliate WGNO, to insist that not only would there not be a boycott of the Tigers, but that Juluke’s departure from the program is not even the primary subject of the scheduled meeting.”

Quote from your article saying Juluke had NOTHING to do with this story.... so no juluke getting canned was not a national story. Also how can a high school boycott a college program? They can’t control where players sign or who they take visits too.. all they can do is whisper in there ear.

Also that’s in the high school sports section not a headline.. national news doesn’t cover high school sports in the spotlight. Sure it was an article by some schmuck that was probably never featured on a front page

It was debated in some paid sites earlier. With his visits, I thought it should be him. After what happened to Burton (and Rakim insisting on not signing early), seems the staff changed their stance on Koy.
