He is the best WR in the state. Physical, great route runner, great hands, can block, great bloodline, cerebral, Uber competitive. Had the luxury of having a big time QB unlike Brian Thomas Jr who is a stud as well just not a legit QB throwing to him

Sh*t! After Moffit is done with him we might have to move him to the TE spot lol

Yep. If anything, hell have to keep weight off to keep from getting moved to TE, lol

I don't like the idea of bulking him up to 230+. He can be effective at this current weight as a receiver.

I don't see sub 4.5 on film, but he is plenty fast enough for the next level.

Gonna be a great Tiger!

Well if he isn't sub 4.5 or is above 4.6 it'll be tough to make the NFL as a WR and he might want to bulk up to 240ish and play TE for a better shot at the league.

ETA:

Although Eric Decker, his best white comparison ran a 4.54 so what do I know.

Ideally you can use him in the Arik Gilbert role. That’s probably what they envision.

Dwayne Bowe is arguably Top 5 and worlds better than Kinchen.

List where bowe falls in your top 5 or so. Chase, Reed, Jefferson, OBJ, Landry are an easy 5 that were worlds better than him. Clayton, Wendell Davis, etc were also way better. Dude had entire seasons where he was garbage and dropped everything. But he had big muscles :swoon:.

Kinchen's stats in the 80s were on par with your heroes of the 2000s playing alongside each other with a #1 overall pick QB. Your touting 45 catch for 600 yards type guys from 30 years more modern football. I'm sure Steve van Buren's stats don't match up to Nick Brossette's either.

Buster Davis was mentioned too. You probably didn't know his name was Craig though.

The NFL took a look back at Landry's performance at the NFL Combine. He ran a 4.77 second time in the 40-yard dash. He had a 28.5-inch vertical jump as well as a 110 inch broad jump. The wide receiver had just 12 repetitions on the bench press.

And that's a 5'11 205lb WR. He's done OK in the NFL from what I can tell:

Kinchen is nowhere near the top 5 or even top 10 based on stats, but he was as talented as anyone. He played in the worst era of LSU football ever, with the worst QBs.

Chad Loup and Sol Graves were his quarterbacks.

Sure has, but that is an exception to the rule and you know it.

I even backtracked in my own post and said Decker did well with a similar build and speed, so give me some credit.

Honestly who cares? He's coming to LSU that's all that really matters in the end.

Bowe has more career yards and TDs than both OBJ and Landry. And he did it while playing alongside two other NFL receivers (Davis and Doucet)

But he was the clear #1 target and wasn’t competing for touches with NFL players.

Ok.

Bowe was a first round pick and an NFL pro bowler. It’s not even an argument that he’s above Kinchen.

In terms of sheer ability:

1. Chase
2. OBJ
3. Jefferson
4. Bowe
5. W. Davis

I knew when I posted that I should have put top 10. Put it this way, had he been relatively injury free, he would have been top 5. Remember, he had a MAJOR knee injury (before today's medical advancements) that he recovered from and still balled out. He also played around 10 or so years in the NFL, and if I'm not mistaken, still holds the playoff record for career td returns. So more of a case of could have been top 5, but was top 10.

Now you're changing to sheer ability rankings. Hilarious. Ryan P is a top 5 QB then since you twisted the argument to sheer ability.

It's not even an argument that bowe isn't top 7 all time wr at lsu. He's borderline top 10 with kinchen and all of your 2006 crushes.

Not sure what the NFL has to do with anything. We are talking about best players in college.

But Kinchen played 7 years in the NFL, so it's not like he wasn't a pro. He was one of the top punt returners in the league for several of those years.

He's as good of an athlete as anyone who has ever played at LSU. His brother Brian played for LSU and also played in the NFL, and his father played for LSU also. Extremely athletic family.
