Just curious, my Jena Giants played them in 2nd round 2 years ago, it was 6-0 going into 4th quarter, they ended up winning 22-0, but back to my point they had no pasxing game, he had only 11 carries i seen against Many for 121 yards, did he get hurt or something ?

One run was 63 yards. Many’s defense was too much after that.
They only gave up 225 rushing yards all year.

Their coach wasn’t great in the game vs many. Kind of a head scratcher….

You said it your self no passing game... we had open receivers but if you don't pass all year it does magically happen in one game when you need it...

10 carries for 58 yards is 5.8 YPC. Seems he was having a bit of success even without the 63-yard run. Think I would have run until they stopped it repeatedly if Trey wasn't hurt.

I was there watching it and regardless what the #s show many & tackett Curtis did stop holley.
On a side note why was holley lined up so far behind the Qb every play? I've never witnessed anything like that. Does he need a running start? Just asking was very odd

How does 11 for 121 demonstrate this? Makes no sense

That statement does not compute. Unless you can show me where he had one or two other big runs that accounted for most of his yards, they clearly did not contain him.

quote:let's say 3 of his 11 runs were 20 10 and 63. Even if his other 8 carries only went for 28 yards (which is still over 3 yards a carry vs a supposedly brick wall run defense), they still didn't stop him.

Other dude must love Many and/or Tackett.

Offensive coordinator is terrible. They don't groom QBs to play the position, they pick whoever is the best athlete or a white kid that can remember the plays. The last good QB they had was the reason they won the last state championship that they won.
How can you have the best running back in the state and the best in the school's history and only give him the ball 11 times. Sad thing is, it won't change, and they will continue to get beat when teams have the front seven to stack the box.

If Farmerville had a quaterback that could throw the ball accurately that game would have turned out different. He missed atleast 3 touchdowns and 2 were to Holly.

There’s more on here than you think. We just don’t use our actual name as our username.

The answer is: High school coaches are usually stupid.
I saw Kenny Hilliard in the state championship game years ago. Every time they handed him the ball he went for at least five yards, but the coach insisted on running cute plays…and they lost.

Wow I played for Jena in ‘94 ‘95 graduated from Georgetown in ‘96. I remember playing Winnfield in ‘95 in pouring rain and their running back wiped the floor with us lol.
