Outside of the A&M mod who ran down kids in bathrooms; I havent seen a more unprofessional "mod" on one of these premium sites than chuck in the last 2 months of Lane being gone.

They had money because the boosters gave them money they normally would not give to try an stabilize the ship.
They picked up a few highly rated kids from LSU they would not normally get because Frank went over there which helped raise them several slots in the rankings.

As other have said. Money. Their boosters rallied to defend their school when they felt Kiffin was dissing it.
Also, I would imagine that some version of the recruiting and transfer structure that Lane has implemented here in BR was left behind in Oxford. so they weren't completely out in the cold.
But I would also imagine it's very much a Larry Coker taking over at Miami type of situation. It will only last so long now that the architect is gone.
