Some of those edge guys will become interior dl. Sam Brockers comes to mind

I don’t remember Sam, but I was with Michael Brockers a few weeks back at the TD Clubs Banquet, when Coach Kelly talked in Houston.

You have schools paying $20 million per year for recruits. How much are you contributing to do what it takes to recruit like Georgia?

The "money spent on recruiting" figures do not reflect money spent "for recruits" in the way you're suggesting. That's how much money the program spends on it's recruiting operation--flights, hotels, per diem, events, visits, support staff salaries--it has nothing whatsoever to do with NIL. NIL money does not come from the athletic department budget.

Theoretically a defensive line is not necessary. If you got athletic DBs they could leap over the offensive linemen and tackle the QB or RB. Anyway, that’s why we’re not recruiting any. We are implementing just such a scheme.

Ummm he literally just showed you that we have a top 247 4* linebacker committed and another 4* committed but right outside of the top 247. The other two high on our list and we theirs are both 4* linebackers who are in the top 247?

We landed like 6 DL after our summer recruiting camp last year and you can bet we’ll land some in this years class as well. Louisiana is down on the DL side of recruiting so that hurts us but we’ll get ours. Also these guys have yet to even play their senior seasons and there will be guys who rise and fall. Maybe it’s best for us to wait for that to play out before we go all out on players not from Louisiana and not well known to us. Plus we just got our DL coach who was already recruiting guys so let’s wait just a little bit to see what he can do. We also have the portal to plug any holes and that will be open to prospects again after the summer is done. We just might get some really good players here by the time it’s all said. There might be a Louisiana prospect that pops up also. Some of these guys don’t get a chance to play until their senior year and they put it all out there for that season, so you very often see surprises. I like those types of guys. Means they know how to wait their turn and are mature enough to do what it takes to make a name for themselves when their turn comes. Let’s see what happens.

It would be great if we were already there and could cherry pick OOS recruits or if we were GA and had 4-5 to choose from every year but we don’t. So we have to actually work for those guys but we also have advantages here. Let’s use those advantages that Louisiana does have and then work for the guys we don’t have easy access to. That’s how this works and that’s why you see GA struggle at other positions that we don’t. Like WR, in 2019. They didn’t have near what we did and all of them came from Louisiana. Kirby even said we need WRs like they have. They went out and recruited that but it took them a couple of years to do it. That’s what we’re doing at certain positions too. Get it? That’s how it works. You get what you can get and go work for the rest, then fill holes with the portal. Everyone has this issue, including GA and Bama even though they get all the 5* players, they still have holes to fill and players who don’t make the cut. Imagine that?

After watching Kelly and Staff rebuild a complete roster, how can anyone doubt what they are doing?
