Matthews is a hybrid safety. Ryan is a nickel safety.
We have a bigger need for a coverage safety than one who can tackle IMO. Foucha will take over in the hybrid role right away and we still have guys like Toles and Davis.

Can I be honest. While Sage and Matthews are both studs, I think Matthew Langlois will have one of the better LSU careers.

This is why, although I was really disappointed we lost Mathews, Perkins was the bigger get. We don't have anyone that matches what Perkins brings the D.

I kind of feel bad for the kid. It sure sounds like he wanted to come here- but simply got overruled by his family. IF that's what happened, that's a damn shame- and pretty sad.

I don’t know Matthews at all, but I’ll take Sage any day. There are intangibles with him that can’t be coached, we just didn’t get to see him last year with the injuries he had.

Mathews will end up being moved to Linebacker or Jumbo strong safety.

My buddy at Ponchatoula told me Mathews was busted with drugs recently and missed more than half the school year by just not showing up to school. His gift this week was not walking for graduation. Supposedly going off the deep end with his money he was promised. You hate to see it.
