Who should we be watching in the transfer portal?

We will sign Adams, Bradford, and McGlothern tomorrow.
Burch and Jackson are being heavily projected elsewhere.
That’ll leave 3 spots open. I’m guessing 1 will be reserved for CamRon Jackson if he qualifies later this spring.
The rest will be needed for transfers or to carry over to next year.

We'll have at least 1 spot open, potentially 2 if Burch/Jackson both dont come here. It could be as much as 3 if Jackson's grades never come around. You look to transfer portal to fill any potential holes or find a cant miss player and save whatever is left for 2021 class. We havent had the chance to back count in a while.

Am i misunderstanding you? Or just missing something? Bc you can't carry over any of your 25 spots to the next year. 25 is the limit for every season no matter how many you signed previously.

Genuinely asking; not trying to argue or disagree, because it seems like you're referring to some aspect of the rules about which i am unaware

Back counting is still allowed. The “extra” would technically be part of this year’s 25.

Look at how many Alabama has signed these last two years and that will answer your question.

A "year" isn't defined by just the recruiting class year itself. A year a full calendar year and when people enroll within it. We could count back "2021" early enrollees who enroll in January 2021 to the 2020 "class" so long as we have spots available under the 25 in 2020.

Plenty of teams still do this, look at Alabama's or Florida's classes, well in excess of 25 this class. Alabama 26 + 1 transfer, Florida 24 + 6 transfers.

You can still back count under certain circumstances. Penn St has 27 rt now, Maryland 28, Bama 26.......

Kind of upsetting at the lack of a big finish we are projected to have. Just had the best season ever and won a Natty and every accolades that you can damn near earn and he we are talking about saving 2-3 spots.

Lol posts like this belong in the trash. Just wait 24 hours and find out, no one really knows what’s going to happen here.

With the early signing day teams winning a NC like Clemson usually dont see the big benefit till the following class. Most of the kids are signed by the time a team wins a NC now. It's not like there was a ton out there in terms of high end kids after early signing day.

Look at Clemson's 2019 class compared to 2020 class after they won the NC in early 2019. HUGE difference. They jumped up nearly 40 points with 6 LESS commits.

Lost a chunk of the staff. Haven't really replaced them with good recruiters and don't really have time to build relationships up. Surprised LSU hasn't gone out looking for analysts who can help recruit lights out yet. Got to have great recruiters on top of great coaching. LSU needs better closers on their staff. Been a problem since Orgeron took over. We've whiffed big time on our finishing runs and they also have a tendency to exaggerate a recruit's interest leaving us out in the cold. Only real weaknesses I'd say this staff has. Needs to get better especially since it shouldn't be difficult to ride the high in recruiting next class.

I mean, Ed is a pretty damn good closet himself. Not to mention Ensminger being a highly regarded recruiter, Raymond and Busch being on staff, and that isn’t even including Pelini’s resume which has the likes of developing guys like Glenn Dorsey, Suh, Lavonte David, and numerous others. We’re gonna still add guys to staff anyway, I’m not worried. Next year is where the natty this year pays off

I say Save at least one spot for next year

If we would have saved a spot last year, either Major Burns or Jalen Lee would be LSU tigers

Orgeron is a great recruiter but Miles was a better closer for sure. That said, they still need to get better because you have Kiffin to contend with now and he's an elite recruiter. Not getting any easier around us.

You just make shite up and try to pass your opinion off as some kind of fact.

Miles was not a better closer than O.

1) the game is different with early signing day. 80-90% of players are already signed so there is less opportunity to poach a guy at the last second like Miles often did. Plus every coach in America knows which guys are not signed so you have more coaches going after less kids. Its not apples to apples.

2) IDC if we had the greatest recruiters on earth, its hard to pull a kid from his hometown if he is afraid to leave momma's side. Thats not a shot at Burch, its a reality.

3) We only lost 1 good recruiter from last year's staff and that was Meatball who I am not sure really was all that great to begin with. He signed Chaisson in 2017 but has finished 2nd for every other big recruit he's gone after. Brady might have been a good recruiter but it is known he didn't enjoy the process so who knows. Aranda didn't recruit like others. He picked a couple of guys he liked in every class and just worked on them. This idea that we lost great recruiters and then hired lesser recruiters is a complete myth that you fabricated out of thin air.
