That we offered for some strange reason??? DBU shouldn’t offer 3* athletes when we can get who we want

Tyrann Mathieu was an “unexceptional” recruit with only 7 offers out of HS: Tulane, SMU, Southern Miss, Tenn., ULM, FIU and LSU.

First you need to ask, who rated him a 3 star? Well, it's some dude or dudes or dudettes at some recruiting service that decided he is a 3 star. Second you need to ask, WTF do they know? Do they know better than Orgeron and staff? I very seriously doubt they do. These recruiting services don't know anything. They go by what someone else is telling them or they go by offer list. I mean, WTF man, if Orgeron and staff offer a scholarship I'm pretty sure they have confidence the player will be a good player. Morris Claiborne was a 2 or 3 star, Tyson Jackson was a 3 star. People need to stop getting all tangled up in the star ratings and trust Orgeron and staff to get the players they want. And I'm sure the players they want are just as good as any others.

Diamonds in the rough... they happen. A lot. Trindon Holliday was a 3* recruit who was absolutely electrifying and went on to play in the NFL though only 5'5".

Some people just get so wrapped up in the star ratings and where the teams end up on a recruiting services top recruiting classes. I went back and looked at Clemson's last 4 classes (I think it was 247) and they finished like 15, 8, 16, 9. This seasons 3 star that will prove to be better is Kendall McCallum. That dude can flat out play.

He’s a 4 star to 247. He does hold offers from LSU, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Florida State, etc. He is extremely underrated.

I hate rankings they mean nothing. This kid can play I don’t care if he has 0 stars. Cordale Flott is another 3* we have that is a fantastic player. The biggest screw job of all though is Kendall McCallum. The only reason I can think that this kid is only a 3* LB is because of his health issue earlier this year. On the field this is a grown man who looks born to be a LB. He should be a high 4 star.
