I'm not sure but didn't he transfer from basketball and only play like one year or something?

Yes Jimmy only played one year, still had pretty good touches..

As far as Diarse, like I said before he likes Saban. With that said, I think anything can happen in a year. This will not be like Landon where his love of his life and her mother are begging him to go to Bama. I think John has a much better head on his shoulders and will make a smart move. I hope he dosent pick a school just for one coach, maybe he will have a change of heart and pick a school over one man.

i don't think anyone player is worth hanging your hat on as far as an entire class goes

there are centerpieces with clear and obvious talent that can contribute for 3-4 years ala pp7, freak, la'el

who will be our centerpiece

Desean Smith is that guy. I know I will be crucified for the comparison but he reminds me of Tony Gonzalez. He can split out wide and be very effective. Red Zone dominant.

Also look for Kendall Beckwith to be a stud on the defensive side.

I thought both Diarse and Jefferson were moving to DB anyhow?

You mistakenly think we use TE's. Colleges never reap the benefits of using these guys for what they are. It's why Graham didn't have gaudy #'s at Miami. They are underutilized.

Right. Because usually the TE is the third or forth receiver. Most college QB's don't have the smarts to check down to the third option and the forth option is almost unheard of.

Also, Bama appeared to use the TE quite well in the BCS National Championship. But most of those plays were designed for the TE as the first option. It was pretty successful.

Yup. Exposed the cover skills of the LB's. We all knew that the LB's were a soft spot in that defense and Bama did a good job exposing that.

Rickey Jefferson is all ours. Book it. IMO Rickey seals jones and EJ levenberry are the must gets.

Not a chance. Whether they have a right to be or not his family is pissed about the way things worked out with JJ. Sure he wasn't the best player, but he constantly got booed and had racial slurs thrown at him. You can say whatever you want about him, fans should support their team (short of ryan perrilloux behavior).

That brings up a bigger topic. How do LSU fans expect anyone to want to play here with the way fans act? What do recruits think when they attend a home game and JJ gets booed? It's embarassing to be represented by so many crude and/or racist and/or non-supportive fans. BTW I'm white so I hear a lot more of the negative things that are said.

Most players say the fans and atmosphere is the reason they chose LSU.

They like being booed? It's like you didn't read what I said but decided to reply.

I wonder if Bama's kickers got booed?

They know that the fans are passionate. Passion can turn ugly when a player repeatedly fricks up. Not saying I agree with it and I've never booed a player before.

I've been pro Diarse since he was a freshman. Those tweets during the BCS championship are pretty damning for LSU. You don't pull for Bama like that on a public forum if you want to go to LSU.

Bama has yet to offer Diarse. I bet LSU offering him early helped their cause. I used to think Bama was in the lead, but I've changed my stance since he got the offer. LSU needs to stay on him. They have a good chance of landing him if they do.

Desean is the right answer

The next guy I'd say is Ronald Lewis, that's my boy like I've said in other threads......if he gets an offer, he will probably commit within days

hates Bama

GREAT return man and solid hands

I'm scared we might lose Desean though.....we haven't had consistent TE production since Dickson his Soph. year in 07......but alot of that is QB play
