Who did we miss on today that we genuinely thought we were getting?

Am I missing something? Why are people melting? For those of us who follow recruiting more than 2 weeks out of the year, we all kind of understood where we stood at this point. With the guys we brought in + the portal pulls, I’m not seeing a reason for this nonsense.

I think Lewis was the only shocking one so far. If Matthews indeed chooses A&M I’d say that would be the bigger shock

He decomitted 6 months ago and there’s been a ton of smoke around tamu and he… I don’t think it would be a big shock that he leaves. It’ll sting but we had to know, right?

Well following the official visits last weekend most insiders said there was momentum for all but probably 1 & had predictions on lsu to close on 4-5 today with Perkins being the wildcard

I make myself get off TD's after the commit this morning, and I come back to this shitshow. Perkins doesnt sign for what another 45 minutes and Jacoby for another 2 hours plus. What the frick gives?! What credible person knows what these 2 are doing a couple hours before it happens? Odd to me that anything would leak after all of this time a couple hours before these 2 get their moment in the spotlight.

The issue seems to be that the recruiting sites got people’s hopes up for a miraculous last second haul of talent. Now that those same sites are projecting calamity, everyone is jumping off a cliff. They are distraught over things that may not come to pass, and even if they do, it is a loss of something we never really had in the first place. Jacoby Mathews would be the only gut punch to me and, even there, he’s long been de-committed and I was only allowing myself to hope for something that was far from a guarantee.

He was offered solely to attempt to pull in the 5* DB for next year. That's it. If he doesn't have the state title game and get the publicity from that, then they wouldn't even have the cover to make the offer they did.
