Where Things Stand Six Days Before the Early Signing Period
Below I attempt to set forth where things stand with potential additions or volitional subtractions from the class. I do NOT want to speculate on players being processed both out of respect for the young men who are committed currently to the Tigers and because the natural instinct to assume that the coaches rank these kids the same as a the scouting services is just not correct. Anyway, I will try to keep this thing updated. Lastly, I'm not insider. This is an aggregation task.

Potential Class Additions:

Zachary Evans
5 Star RB from Houston (Northshore HS).
#1 rated RB, #9 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Georgia, Texas A&M, Alabama
Timetable: Was supposed to announce his commitment on Wednesday, December 4, but pushed it back. Current view is he signs in December and announces at the UA game.
EARLY ENROLLEE
Rumored to be a silent commit (Vol/EXPLAYER)
Shea Dixon & Bill Embody have CB’d him to LSU
Steve Wiltfong CB'd him to LSU on 12/2
Georgia’s 247 guy and some Texas and Aggie guys have all CB’d him to LSU
Attends same HS as K'Lavon and Eric Monroe, which is a known LSU pipeline in the Houston area
Was in College Station on 11/16 for the Aggie's game against South Carolina.
Aggies have some optimism recently that he wants to play for a middle tier program as he visited College Station on December 8.
Coach O at home visit December 9th (no news out of this, which is surprising to me).
Wiltfong article on Dec 9 implies that he is still expecting LSU to win over the Aggies.
Sounds like LSU mods still think he's coming but it's more of a tossup.
Perroni (Aggie guy) reported that Evans IS signing during ESP but will keep it quiet until the all star game. Aggie hearts are all abuzz because Evans talked to Jimbo at a TD Club event in Houston on Dec 11 and Ed O wasn't there to stop it.
Wiltfong on Dec 11 apparently posted that he thinks Evans is headed to A&M.
Several LSU experts have made clear that the staff is recruiting two other RBs who are committed elsewhere as a backup plan.

Jordan Burch
5 Star DE from South Carolina
#1 rated DE, #2 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama
Timetable: Signing on Dec 19
EARLY ENROLLEE
Long assumed to be a Clemson signee, his interest in LSU has heated up considerably.
Lots of smoke the weekend of November 29/30 that this is now between LSU and USCe
Friends with Muschamp's son
Has not been to Clemson since this summer.
No CBs for LSU (yet)
Visited LSU for the Auburn game
Visited Bama for our beatdown of them on November 9
Supposedly his Mom really likes Orgeron
Gerry Hamilton mentioned LSU as a strong possibility in an interview on ESPNU radio on November 13
Saban went in home on Dec 9
Orgeron going in home Dec 13
Sonny is saying 40% LSU per a guy at dinner tonight. Seems like a BS % to me.
Wiltfong article on Dec 9 strongly implied he sees Burch as an LSU Tiger.

Phillip Webb
4 Star OLB from Buford, GA
#5 rated OLB, #38 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Auburn, Oklahoma, Alabama
Timetable: Has not provided a timetable but says once he commits, he will shut things down
Visited LSU officially in June and unofficially on October 12
Unofficially visited Bama for our beatdown of them on November 9
Cancelled his official visit for Auburn that was supposed to occur Dec 6-7.
Moved his Alabama OV from December 13/14 to Dec 6/7 (leaving the following weekend potentially open for an unofficial to LSU)
Visited Florida on November 30. Did not sound like the Gators made any headway. Florida's insider even CB'd him to LSU on 12/1
Shea and Embody CB'd him to LSU the week of 11/11
The Clemson insider on 247 also CB'd him to LSU
Wiltfong article on Dec 9 almost assumed he was an LSU Tiger.
Very tight with Aranda. Aranda visits with him on Dec 12, where I hope he can convince Webb that he (Aranda) is not going anywhere. Webb would be a huge get.

Marcus Dumervil
4 Star OT from Florida
#11 rated OT, #96 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Florida
Timetable: Unclear
Teammate of LSU commit Marlon Martinez (OG)
Five CB’s for him, all to LSU

Ty’Kiest Crawford
4 Star OT from Carthage, Texas
#19 rated OT, #193 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Unclear
Timetable: Per Embody on the radio on 11/12, likely a February signer
Former Arkansas commit, only school he has officially visited is Arkansas
Has visited LSU unofficially several times
Has visited A&M unofficially
Per Embody on the radio on 11/12, has work to do in the classroom
Per Vol, Crawford was only going to Arkansas because of his relationship with Chad Morris. If Morris gets the OC gig at Auburn, that might be a bad sign for the Tigers.

re: Where Things Stand Six Days Before the Early Signing Period
Less Likely Class Additions But Keep Watch:

McKinnley Jackson
4 Star DT from Mississippi
#10 rated DT, #114 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Timetable: Appears to be waiting until February which may give us a chance to consider him if we have some surprises on ESD
Visits Auburn on December 14 (right before ESD so does he shut it down then?)
Visiting LSU on January 17, Ole Miss on January 24 and Aggie on January 31
Former LSU commit
LSU coaches went in the home on Dec 9

Demouy Kennedy
4 Star ILB
#3 rated ILB, #49 overall
Other Teams Considering: Alabama (Committed), Auburn
Timetable: Signing in December
EARLY ENROLLEE
Visited for the A&M game with his mom
Reportedly tried to keep the visit hush
Left Baton Rouge without flipping.
Orgeron visited him at his high school on December 9.

Eric Reed
4 Star S from Shreveport
#16 S, #166 overall player
Recently decommitted from Ole Miss
Supposedly really wanted to be at LSU but we would not accept his commitment
With a S recruit being rumored to flip to Clemson, he may be back in play.
Had an in-home with Gus and Steele of Auburn on Dec 9
Georgia is also in play.
LSU is trying to convince him to wait until February. UGA is pressing for a pledge right now.

Donovan Kaufman
3 Star S from Rummel
#35 S, #444 overall player
Currently committed to Vanderbilt
Another rumored replacement for a S flip
Ignore the ranking; he supposedly blew up this past fall
Florida State recently offered.
LSU is likewise pressing Kaufman to delay until February.

Avantae Williams
4 Star S from Florida
#2 S, #55 overall
Just decommitted from Oregon.
Signing in February
Early indications were that he was a Miami/Florida battle.
Recent smoke is that he is in contact with the Tigers.
At this point seems a longshot, but with Greene flirting with Clemson and us needing two S this cycle, worth keeping an eye on.
Per Vol: "Avante is someone they have kept talking with for a while, and he was always interested but was locked into Oregon. Now it's on. UF and Miami are hard after him, but Busch really wants him and we will go hard for him."

Edgerrin Cooper
4 Star MLB from Covington, Louisiana
#24 rated OLB (he’s really a Mike), #333 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Oklahoma, Miss State
Timetable: Another player who could wait until February
We already have two inside LBs committed.
Decommitted from OU recently

Sedrick Van Pran
4 Star Center from New Orleans
#3 rated C, #103 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Georgia (Committed)
Timetable:
Seems like he just wants to leave Louisiana, which is a damn shame because we want him bad and he plays a position of need.
Reportedly has had discussions with LSU post-Pittman departure.

Chad Lindberg
4 Star OT from Texas
#17 OT, #168 overall
Currently committed to Georgia. Also looking at Texas and A&M
Problem is that he's already had his OV to LSU.

Tate Ratledge
4 Star OT
#3 rated OT, #36 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee
Per Vol, the recent hiring of Sam Pittman (UGA OL coach) by Arkansas has caused Ratledge to hear out his options.
On the event of December 8, he Tweeted out: "I will not be answering questions on my current situation. This will stay between me and my family for now. Thank you."

DJ Uiagalelei
5 Star QB
#1 rated QB, #13 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Clemson (Committed)
Timetable:
LSU continues to talk to him
Family came to LSU for a visit without him during the Auburn game because Clemson doesn’t allow commits to visit elsewhere
Vol and EXPLAYER have hinted that this is in play, but perhaps they are overly optimistic
EXPLAYER also suggested that DJ is the only QB we’re still recruiting (other than the two commits we already have)
Younger brother is supposed to be a player too
The 247 guys don’t think we have any shot
Seems like a real longshot
His lead recruiter Jeff Scott recently left Clemson for the HC gig at USF

Demond Demas
5 Star WR from Houston
#2 rated WR, #15 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Texas A&M (Committed)
EARLY ENROLLEE
Freakish athlete has been solid to the Aggies
Some rumor that he has reached out to the staff
With A&M being an absolute grease fire, he may have awoken to the fact that he’ll play three uneventful years in College Station with no championship aspirations.

Kelee Ringo
5 Star CB
#1 rated CB, #8 overall
Other Teams Considering: Georgia, Texas, Oregon
Timetable: Announcing at AA game
Has not visited anywhere since Oregon in October
Cancelled his OV to Texas (supposedly due to his HS playoffs, not due to Herman firing everyone to save his job)

re: Where Things Stand Six Days Before the Early Signing Period
Flip Risks?

Malcolm Green

4 Star S from Virginia
#29 S, #299 overall player
Officially visited LSU on October 12
Committed to LSU on October 26
Lots of smoke from Clemson and LSU that a flip to the faux Tigers is imminent.
Vol confirmed and says LSU did not expect this and is not happy about it, especially Coach Raymond.

Rakim Jarrett
5 Star WR from DC
#3 rated WR, #19 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Alabama
Timetable:
Rumor is that he is enamored with the thought of playing with Bryce Young at Alabama
Visited the Tide with Kayshon Boutte in October
EXPLAYER called these rumors nonsense and said he is “Tattoo Committed”
RadarTiger also has stated that Jarret is solid in his commitment
Seems like all of the national guys were so shocked that he committed that they just expect him to go elsewhere
O and Brady visited him in home on Dec 10

Demon Clowney
4 Star WDE from Baltimore, MD
#7 rated WDE, #123 overall player
Other Teams Considering: Georgia, Maryland, Clemson
Has been committed to LSU for nearly 8 months but has reportedly been very non-responsive to the staff
Redfieldk717 indicated that “he hasn’t been very good this year and people are cooling in him. I understand he is highly rated but that’s just what I heard.”
Cadello has seen him play and thought he looked good.
Some smoke that we will hear news on him this weekend.

re: Where Things Stand Six Days Before the Early Signing Period
ROPO, excellent breakdown my friend. That's about as clear and concise as you can get it based on the pseudo-facts that we know thus far. Your choice wording would make even my English professor estactic. What stands out the most is that LSU Football is in a position that gives them multiple options come signing day. Reminds me of the elite teams like Miami back in the 80's. I have to keep reminding myself that we are #1 again and that alone is something these kids know and respect. It becomes their challenge to be good enough to get in. Recruits know now that it's not so easy as it would seem. LSU has to want me and I have to perform. As I said before, I'm thoroughly enjoying how the entire process is and will play out. GEAUX Tigers!

It’s a Clemson/Dabo thing. They don’t allow commits to take any visits.
