When we talk about the 2025 class , I don’t think Charles Ross is talked about enough

Since it’s a bye week I’ve been paying more attention to the 2025 class and man Charles Ross absolutely jumps off my screen watching him play. It’s no wonder he’s made a massive climb in rankings since committing to us. Not only is he a freak athlete (4.3 speed , 10.3 100 meter guy ) but he plays with a High football IQ as well. I think he’s a day 1 impact guy he’ll immediately be our most athletic linebacker.

I wish someone would buy you away.

I thought he was one of the top 3 prizes in the class when he committed. He may prove to be the next great LSU LB early in his career.

Damn. We have a linebacker coming with 4.3 speed?

I happen to be in Houston and the local sports guys featured him. Outside of speed and toughness, the reference how smart he is…calling out correct plays and pass routes. Sounds like we have a good one coming

Damn High football IQ paired with freakish athleticism ? Sheesh this kid is gonna be an absolute stud. Most young athletic lbs are just taught to see ball get ball and not rlly run/ quarterbacking a defense. The fact he already is a smart kid to go with his athleticism is highly promising. Him on the field next to whit weeks is gonna be fun to watch

Maybe because he still needs to put on a few pounds

Yea he was 195 last year as a junior but apparently has his weight up to 210 pds. He also is a pretty muscular lookin good so putting on some size to fill out his frame shouldn’t be too hard for Ross. But at the same time don’t want him to put too much weight on due to the speciel speed he posses as a Lb. I think 215- 220 is the perfect weight for him

Every team and every player has the chance to get bought....fact of life!

I seen where he has skyrocketed all the way up to the #2 LB in the country on one of the recruiting services. Can’t remember which one.

I think Ross can be that true linebacker everyone kind of hoped Perkins would be. He has a very similar build and athleticism like Perkins but he's a guy who can truly play that LB position well overall. Perkins is still kind of that guy with ridiculous athleticism but no true position yet. He can get after the QB, spy the QB, but playing a traditional LB role hasnt really seen the best out of him. He was best when he just lined up off the EDGE and got after it basically, but thats not a true long term role for him. I think Perkins could really succeed in that STAR role and I hope they give him a look there next season honestly.

he's going to need to add like 20lb+ of weight to play linebacker at the college level, or switch to safety

Speed his great but he arm tackles too much. Go watch his highlights before downvoting. Doesn't use his pads to drive through tackles. He grabs jersey with hands to get people to the ground. That wont work in the sec. If he can fix this habit he has the speed and tools to be good.
