Sounds like a strong candidate. I wouldn’t be disappointed with O necessarily, but it would be good to go a little younger but still very experienced.

Yup. I wouldn't mind seeing Lane snag an alpha dog like Coleman from Barn

Dunno man. He's small for a dt. Anyone saying he's going to be Ed Oliver doesn't have a clue how good Oliver is. I wouldn't be bothered if he signed with OM.

You’re one of those ‘always saying stupid shite’ people.

If this is true, makes you think that Lane already has a new DC in his pocket who is good with that hire.

Come back next year and let me know if he's as good as Oliver. Oliver was a beast as a true frosh. I live in Houston, I saw Oliver play many times. More than you.

From what I’ve heard from actual family members of baker that talked to him on Monday, you are full of it and he is legit struggling with the decision.

I have heard the exact same thing.

I just also heard there are some frustrations with some things that have changed with LSU under Kiffin this week. He was meeting with Tulane this morning and LSU tonight and hopefully LSU would fix the issues.

Let me guess, you can’t elaborate?

I think he was told to spy running QBs with someone not easily distracted, to eliminate exotic blitzes with D-line dropping into coverage against WRs, to teach proper tackling technique to the defensive players, and to install discipline in players to focus on their defensive responsibilities, not the other players.

Some contract stuff, some responsibility discrepancies and some staffing decision stuff. The way it was put to me was there was some things that changed after Kiffin actually got here. Which I’m sure happens. Things change. Not that it can’t be worked out and he was still very much torn on the decision. We shall see.

Kiffin’s brother coached LBs. That could be a sticking point since it’s Baker’s position group.

So basically a head coach taking ownership of his entire staff instead of hiring a DC and telling him to make whatever decisions he wants?

I can’t say in too upset if that’s the hang up.
