He's a SDE from Many who ATVS says they expect in our 2019 class.

247

Any thoughts on how good he is?

He is 40lbs away from playing DE in a 3-4. So basically a project that has some speed.

Nah. Last word was 245 or so so put another 25-30 on him and let him get the rest as his time goes on.
I understand the sentiment though and agree but it looks like we are either shooing for the moon and preparing backups or the staff feels we are down to the backup options/developmental guys. We shall see how it plays out. I'm not against taking Warren just think he should be the bottom end of the haul.

He's Benny Logan. Even from the same part of the state.

You take him, you won't get anything out of him until his third year in the program. By then he's 6-4 and 280 pounds and he's a grown-arse man, and if he's like Logan was he'll have been 100 percent worth the wait.

Or, if not, then he's Deondre Clark and you wasted a scholarship.

What he isn't is an impact recruit. If LSU wants that on the defensive line in this class we're going to have to go JUCO, because we aren't getting any of the impact kids from the looks of it.

Yeah I don't get why we arent all over the top juco rushers.
What ever happened to the dude bill Busch knew up north?

Sell them on playing and going pro.
We should be able to sell the defense

Ask and ye shall receive

From Shea (pretty sure it's Kuony Deng):
quote:

New: #LSU is looking for edge rushers in the 2019 class, and the No. 1 OLB in JUCO just locked in an official visit to Baton Rouge.

@BrianDohn247 has the latest on the 6-foot-6, 235-pounder and his final two visits.

It is Deng. He's going to visit Cal and here. Already been to Virginia Tech, A&M and UCLA.

Seems like Sean Williams would make more sense because he's a guy you can line up inside in a four man front for your rush package, but I'm not going to turn down the No. 1 JC edge rusher at this point, especially if Williams isn't making noises like he's going to commit anytime soon.

Take Warren and hope he’s a Bennie Logan type that can add like 30-40 pounds over his first three years on campus then become a player his last couple years.

Go all out for Deng to bring on another guy that can rush the passer and do it hopefullly next season.

And then go find a DT SOMEWHERE because I have zero faith Sophser comes here

That’s how I’d finish the front 7 class. Then obviously don’t turn him away I f Nakobe Dean wants in if we pull Raydarius Jones (which I really hope we do).
