Billy Cannon put LSU on the map

Kevin Faulk was #1.
At a time when we were losing too many recruits on a regular basis, his signing caused the pendulum to begin swinging the other way. This jump started the Gerry Dinardo era and brought us out of the doldrums.
2. Billy Cannon
3. Leonard Fournette

No his passes looked like ducks shot out of the sky. Absolutely amazing athlete.
Watching this board melt every week that he wasn’t throwing the ball was wild whenever we all had access to his highlight tape where he was throwing soft balls 20 yards down field to wide open WRs

Bryce would feel like the first high school truly elite QB we’ve gotten. We were the only team that lied to show Sheppard that he would get QB run time, but he was never playing that position at the next level. Switching him to WR (and in a 1980s style NFL offense) made his college career seem disappointing, but led to him becoming a great special teams/end of the roster contributor and had a nice little career out of it. Had he really tried for QB for a few years he likely doesn’t ever get to that point

Kevin Faulk \thread
Kevin could have gone anywhere in the country. He chose to stay home. He started the comeback of LSU football and showed other LA recruits you could stay home, go to LSU and be successful. There may be bigger star commitments but IMO Faulk started the turnaround that was the golden era of LSU football for the next 20 years.
Faulk was the stereotypical Louisiana RB that would have been a stud at Fla State... except he didn't go there, he went to LSU.

Biggest - I will go with Big Herm, biggest baby born in state and massive human being,
Most important - has to be Faulk for reasons already stated. Locking up homegrown talent will always trump bringing in top out of state guys, because it sets a precedent and provides a path to
sustained success.
