what was YOUR biggest recruiting melt. go on, admit it.
long before the pay sites, we had the magazines and word of mouth. I lost my shite when I found out on a regional cfb radio show that auburn had landed Thomas pittman. pretty bad melts with eric Jefferson, brock berlin, travis minor, joe McKnight and landon Collins.

In hindsight was #5for5 melt proven to be the most useless melt in the history of the rant. LSU got the good players the rest never lived up to the hype.

Landon Collins was probs my biggest and also last melt. That started the trend of losing top in state guys to Nicholas every year. Now I just laugh at the shenanigans.

For me, it was Joe McKnight (r.i.p.). If there was something that I didn’t call John Curtis that day, I’d like to know what it was.

Joe McKnight for sure.
I don’t know what it is, but it just seems like all Louisiana stars, when we lose them, go to our most hated rival at the time. They really like to stick it to the home town guys.

Janzen Jackson for me. My one and only true recruiting melt. I wasn’t even that mad at losing him but the way he went about it that really pissed me off.
Of course that turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Also got pissed at miles for not offering a couple of d lineman that ended up wrecking shite at tcu. Didn’t really melt just didn’t understand the thinking.

5 for 5 opened my eyes to the recruiting world. No one knows a high school teenager is going to do.
I really just stopped investing so much time and energy in it after that.
I obviously still follow it because I love LSU, just not what it used to be.

idk if you remember, but I got pissed at Dinardo for not going after greg gathers from E. st. john. he fked shite up at Georgia Tech until his kidneys shut down.
