There is no "system". Most of it is parent driven and they must hold back before the end of fifth grade. There are actually very few compared to what it was in the 90s.

Who?

I don't know of any in Monroe that even comes close.

Who? Failing is a different story. Lots of teams that have kids that have worn out their welcome because they can't pass, but to have a strategic system in place to help kids hold back in elementary (my two nephews did already) is another thing altogether.

Who encouraged my sis to hold her kids back? Oh, yes their pee wee coach who is a WM baw. Sterlington is beginning to follow suit I must say. It becomes a cultua.

IT IS THEIR CULTURE BRO.

Stop trying to deflect here.

Damn, I grew up and still around it. Hell, two of my nephews will be playing for WM and both will be in 7th grade at Good Hope.

It is understood that if you don't hold your son back the chances they play are slim unless they are super elite.

He is a good punter. They are a dime a dozen. Wish him the best of luck but reality is he will not play big time sec football.

I coach at Good Hope and we didn’t have near the hold backs this year as we did last year. The WM freshman class was loaded from what West Ridge and GH sent them this past year.

My son plays at Westridge and it’s nothing like Reo45 describes. Sure there are holdbacks but it doesn’t make up anywhere near the majority of the team.

Peyton Todd is a 16 year old Sophomore and Brooks Miller is a 17 year old Junior. And what’s your point again?

WM follows the age rules. I believe that the student cannot turn 19 before Sept. 1 of senior year. Correct me if I am wrong.
