Saban left for Miami and Les was coming in? I know some recruits changed there commitment during this, and was there any other big time recruits we could have landed if it wasn't for a coaching change/vacancy?

Keys had committed to LSU early, then got kicked out of school for drugs. He ended up playing his senior season out of state and switched to Bama. LSU didn't miss out, Keys had character issues.

I think Saban pulled his schooly when he got expelled for selling drugs. Then he went to a HS in Bama and ended up with Saban anyway.
It didn't help us with Patrick Turner, Fred Rouse, Reginald Youngblood or DeSean Jackson as they all visited during the leaving process.

Were you being serious about saying that class sucked? Because we had some really REALLY good recruits that year

Keys was an absolute beast. It's a shame he was a moron.

Not sure, but the lack of HS recruited Jr's and Soph's on the DL really bugs me.

Good for him. He would have been misused at LSU for sure. Wouldn't have been drafted nearly as high.

We took RP over Colt McCoy.

Y'all talking about Chris Keys that played at Port Barre?

Yeah keyes was from port barre, his film was jaw dropping good.
We also missed out on a big OL from Georgia who was very highly ranked and went to UT with Josh mcneil. Chris Scott I think was his name.

I was a senior when keys was a freshman. They had him and marvin white in the same defensive backfield. They lit up my litlle white arse everytime I ran the ball.

He got caught selling weed at school, an somehow ended up moving to Alabama and living with a bama recruit, then signing with bama. Was a pretty strange set of events.
Btw I just checked and that other OL we missed was Chris Scott who will be a third year starter for UT playing left tackle this year. Losing mcneal and Scott was a big blow, and those two constitute 2/5ths of UTs starting OL for like the last three years.
