There have also been reports out that say he will count. Personally I don't see how a grad transfer can count, but hopefully it works out for us.
It would suck to have to turn down an elite recruit so that we can have a kicker for 1 year.

A spokesperson at LSU stated he would count against the 25. That's where the confusion now comes in.

honestly, after we sign Cherry and (hopefully) Marshall tomorrow, with 4 spots left, I hope we finish with Surtain, Joseph, Goodrich, and Chase or Watkins. Hopefully we can get a waiver for the kicker so we have room for Joiner, but I don't think he is a game changing RB or anything like that so why turn down 4 players with elite type potential?

According to this article and sources, LSU didn't provide the paper work for him to sign with LSU. If this is the case, LSU is not sold on Pooka's grades.

i mean yeah its a gamble if he doesnt check out academically then why risk giving him a spot now? id wait till feb to get a more definitive answer on his grades

Pooka to the Tigers in a year or two from JUCO. Provens is a stud who provides the same break away skills.
