Exactly. Holding down the end of the bench with that dumb look on her face. At least we won’t have to see that out of Kent and Velez this season.

Kim must have promised graduation, for whatever reason, to family

“Jersey Wolfenbarger spent two seasons at Arkansas before sitting out last season with the intention to transfer. She’ll join an LSU front court that will return Aneesah Morrow, Aalyah Del Rosario and injured center Sa’Myah Smith. She’ll be looking to carve out a spot in the starting rotation and take the spot that Reese once filled.”

lol. A know-nothing Tiger Rag writer joining the chorus of “Derp! She six-five!!”
Wolfenbarger is NOT a post player. If we are depending on her to hold down the fourth spot in the post rotation because we’ve struck out on everybody else and this is the final roster, then this is probably a Sweet Sixteen team.

I know the deadline to enter the portal has passed but I'm unfamiliar with how it works now. Is there a date when it closes or is it just the deadline to enroll in the fall for the different universities?

She prefers to play a little further away from the basket but at 6’5 and if she has some skills, I don’t see why she couldn’t play closer to the basket. It’s basketball , not rocket science.

Looks like the portal talk has died down and apparently not much expected. Hell, even this thread has been relegated to Page 2. Looks like no news is bad news.
Anyway, I guess we will have to settle for another Elite 8 spot as our goal for 2025.
Whoever was in charge of recruiting got his/her brains beat in both the HS ranks and the portal (albeit the guards we picked up hopefully pan out)
Why do you think that was? No money or negative recruiting?

Yeah, Kim Mulkey’s deepest and best roster since she’s been here might make the Elite 8 if we’re lucky :)

There us nothing wrong with luck being a factor getting a team to an Elite 8......my post was concerning recruiting which apparently we did not have much LUCK with

There are some people in this thread for whom the national championship game last year was the first game of basketball they had ever seen. The amount of negative, uneducated, and asinine statements on this thread is truly staggering.
Kim won a national championship with a team of:
Morris - 15pts/game 33% 3pt 4ast 2.5 TOs
Carson- sharpshooter 35% 3pt 9 pts/game
Johnson as a freshman
Reese
Williams 10pts/game 6reb/game
Poa, Poole, and Smith coming off bench
We have a better roster right now with no more transfers than the national championship winning roster.

Jesus dude it’s women’s basketball recruiting.
Even worse there’s nothing to melt about. This team is 10 points better than Kim’s national championship team lmao

The portal class in terms of the guards was excellent, they got a legit PG who is a lockdown defender and score shoot the 3 ball efficiently (Day-Wilson).
Gilbert will be Kim's best guard coming off the bench since she came to LSU and was giving Arizona a lot of points. We got zero scoring off our bench essentially our first few years, now we have a 15 PPG efficient 3 point shooters who will be waiting in the wing.

Jersey/Sheppard are very talented and give us some solid bench players with experience. Plus Sheppard is another true PG as well so its already an upgrade over Poa running the point as a backup next season. Jersey hasn't scratched the surface of her potential, Kim will make sure to use her size at 6'5, at Arkansas all they do is just jack up 3s and horrible shots every weekends with no discipline..
Jersey Wolfenbarger Highlights
I still think they have to add one more big, weather a project or not though. but guard wise next year is easily Kim's best crop by a long shot, we have multiple true ball handlers but top to bottom this roster already is in much better shape depth wise than before. We had the starting 5 last year with zero bench help at all and no true PG
