I grew up with her dad. He was a starting OF for the 2000 ULL World Series team. Her brother was a D1 SS too.

Sometimes I read things that remind me of how old I am. Thanks.

very nice pick, even though she the 2 nd pg on the roster, she will be the 3rd pg. she wont commmand a lot of mins but she can provide 1 to 15 mins of quality play.

Will she be more in the divine role or will she get meaningful sec minutes

I will never understand why coaches recruit players to just have them sit on the bench and they have no intention of having them contribute to the game. Just seems like a waste of a scholarship. I would hope Chloe Larry plays more than Divine did.

That’s my only gripe about mulkey

She is reluctant to use her bench, even when her bench is really really good

Mulkey has said "they have to earn it" regarding playing time.
She has historically had 8 or so in a rotation. Several freshmen "earned it" and there were 9 or so in the rotation last year. Some recruits take longer to figure out what is expected and how to help the team.

I still believe Divine should have gotten more minutes. I mean she was a 5 star just like the others. I'm curious as the reason why Mulkey didn't give Divine more minutes. I understand it was moving slowly with her transition but what better way to get her there besides giving her more minutes. I'm going to watch her at Illinois to see if she pays differently.

Not sure what the delay. It appears to be the real thing. This player is following many of the players and coaches on her Instagram page as well as she is being followed by them. There was a write up from her country about her playing ball at LSU. So it definitely sounds real.

I was excited about Divine when she signed. And you could see the raw talent, especially the outside shooting touch, when she did play.

I watched every game beginning to end- even all of the early blowouts when there was a real chance for the newcomers and freshmen to play and show their value. Unfortunately, even in these cakewalks it was obvious (in my opinion) that Divine wasn't ready or up to the level of the other three freshmen.

She was literally a mistake waiting to happen even in her brief minutes. Turnovers, mental mistakes, looking lost on offense or defense, etc. I totally understood Kim not playing her against the better teams. She proved to be an automatic liability on the floor which was not the case with the other three freshmen Knox, Bella, and Z. Early on Kim gave Divine every chance to "earn minutes", and almost every time her negatives were more than her positives. And we never saw the practices where I'm sure these weaknesses surfaced as well.

Kim yanks players when they mess up, even upperclassmen, which I feel is really good coaching. Divine will probably do better where the expectations aren't so high and you can stay on the floor if you make a number of mistakes as long as you're an offensive threat.

I would have liked to have seen Divine stay as she has good raw ability, and after another year of development I think she could have contributed. But I totally understand Kim not playing her, and I think Divine realized she'd have to wait longer than she wanted to wait- so I understand her moving on. Wish her all the best. She has natural talent.

Do a little research and see how many points per game were scored by Lady Tiger bench players this past season.

I love coach Kim but I believe this is one reason she loses out of players, Kim yanks players when they mess up, even upperclassmen, she need to learn to let them play through it, i know if very discouraging as a player.
