re: WBB: Did Morro sign with LSU?

Much has been made of SC’s 13 5 stars which I agree is mid-boggling. But you can only play 5 at a time, and most of the time players 11-15 just ride the bench except in blowouts. Don’t know how you keep them all happy for an entire season.

If LSU gets Minaeva to go with Morro I would argue that both would be rated 5 stars had they come up in the U.S. So that would give LSU ten 5 stars and McDonald’s AA to rival the first 10 of SC. So I think for the first 10 the talent is very comparable with LSU stronger at some positions and SC stronger at some others and in some places a wash. Kim has closed the gap to basically equal in the first 10 in just 5 years.

Regardless of whether or not LSU beats SC this year (the game is at Columbia), I believe it will be tight throughout. And based on this spring’s recruiting if the two new bigs pan out like I think LSU should be looking at the Final 4 along with SC, UConn, and USC (west) with Michigan, Duke, Texas, and Vandy right behind.

Normally the teams with the best PGs advance the farthest. The Final 4 this year had Raven Johnson for SC and Rori Harmon for Texas who were both 5-year starters along with Top 5 draft picks Azzi Fudd and Kiki Rice. This year I’ll put Jada Williams up against most in the country not named Hidalgo or JuJu.
