I’ve been at LSU for three years and have been incredibly underwhelmed for most games except Ole Miss last year. I’m not sure if it’s a result of the BK era or what. I wish I could have experienced it in the early 2000s.

I just came to say that I’m a TA at LSU and had Colin in class last year. Kolaj Cobbins and AJ Swann were in the same class. Colin and Kolaj sat in the front row, were there every class, and worked their butts off. Been a fan of them ever since just for that.

In two years we will be talking about retention because so many of this year's freshmen are not college ready and will be dropping out.

From the academic side, retention has already being a major topic of discussion. It’s also (ironically) a reason for increased acceptance rates.
Rumor is that Lampley canceled visits to Tennessee and South Carolina.
Jacy Abii commits to Notre Dame. Tough loss as she would have replaced Flau’jae next season. Kelsi Andrews is set to announce her decision on Tuesday.

Security said “no one cares about women’s basketball” towards some of the players tonight. Horrible look for the recruits that were there. Hope Mulkey set him straight.
2027 guard Madi Mignery was on campus today. She posted on her IG story with Redus.
Lady Vols suspend Ruby Whitehorn indefinitely following arrest

Not directly LSU related, but a blow to the Vols if Whitehorn remains suspended.
Olivia is also close with Bella Hines and they roomed together during one of the tournaments they played together in. Bella had an IG live with her and several were saying to bring her to LSU. She stayed pretty tight-lipped but said we were definitely in contention.
IIRC someone asked Brian Kelly about him kicking field goals and he said he might hit one clean from 50 yards and the very next one ends up going sideways.

Why weren’t there any significant adjustments to the offensive game plan, or attempts to change personnel—such as giving a new quarterback a chance mid-game—especially when it was clear that Garrett Nussmeier was not able to execute? If all possible measures were taken and the team still failed to execute, what does that reveal about the coaching staff’s mindset and adaptability?

I get the anger from fans. But as someone who has coached for many years, there are certain things that take time to establish. At the end of the day, we have a first year starting QB and our best RB is a freshman. A lot of our defense is young as well, with a new DC and staff teaching them. Plus they are out there and see these guys every single day in practice when we see them once a week for 60 minutes. If other players were truly outperforming these guys weekly, they’d probably be getting more looks.

I’m not excusing the poor play, just saying try not approaching it from the pov of a fan for a minute. Ultimately, we may just not be a very talented team. We lost to a bad USC team, struggled against UCLA most of the game, honestly should have lost to South Carolina and Ole Miss, then got exposed by A&M and Bama. The one game we looked good in was Arkansas, but they are a mediocre team who lost to OK St, and struggled against UAB and Auburn. They pulled out a big win against UT but that was it.
Great article on Flau’jae. She says “I am going to choose to go to the WNBA. I don’t know how soon… just depending on how, you know, how my season goes and things like that”

Wnba's requirements--bachelor's degree and be 22 years old.

Per the WNBA: “The league requires domestic draft entrants to be at least 22 years old during the year in which the draft takes place and to have no remaining college eligibility or to renounce any future college eligibility.”

She was born in November 2003, so she turns 21 this November. That means technically she would turn 22 “during the year in which the draft takes place.” I have no clue about her academics but it’s possible she could graduate early. I don’t think she will, I’m just saying if she’s in a position academically, she could.
Assuming Flau’jae returns, Divine will be the 10th scholarship player. You can have up to 15.
Yeah, it’ll show up tomorrow. Student tickets do that all the time.

The whole pageantry of the evening would make more of an impression than some subjective opinion of crowd noise. How many home basketball games were nationally televised and the broadcast crew raved about the sellout crowds and the atmosphere at those games. That resonates more than football games.

I was responding to a comment that talked about the crowd and stating it was not impressive at this particular game. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but that wasn’t the point of the post.

More about your point, we are talking about three top ten recruits and are going up against other national championship contenders (South Carolina, SoCal, Kentucky, Texas, Tennessee, UConn, etc.) some of whom got just as much national exposure as we did last year and have excellent atmospheres as well. All the top programs will.

102K loud raucous fans on a Saturday night

I’ll be honest, I thought the atmosphere would be a contributing factor as well, but I couldn’t help but notice this was one of the quietest games I’ve ever attended. Not sure if it was because it was because of the opponent, going too hard at the first home tailgate of the season, or just bitterness about last week’s loss, but something was just off.
Jordyn Palmer from Pennsylvania has an offer from LSU as well. Class of 2027. 6’1 stud. Player of the year in the state for 23-24. Playing on the U.S. women’s U17 national team.

Is the difficulty of getting a double double for women the equivalent of a triple double for men?

One thing no one has mentioned is that a WNBA game is shorter than an NBA game. They have four 10 minutes quarters as opposed to 12. So the men’s game has almost a full quarter of game time (8 minutes) more than women.
