Another 80 yd TD pass

55 yard LCA TD right up the gut untouched

Maybe our coaches evaluated this guy and let him leave. Invest NIL in talent that will produce at the next level. If he was truly a 5 star he would have been a force in this game.

I think he will develop into a good starting SEC DT but he isn't looking like a 5 star game changer. Would have liked to have him for the depth (never have enough big bodies).

Completely agree. I’m just basing my assessment off of this game.

I was really curious as to how how good Acadiana was when I saw video of their scrimmage against ASH.

Just watched the game and I am not impressed. I am not gonna base his whole evaluation on this game alone but McKinley in no way shape or form should be a 5 star. Rankings can be considered pointless by some, but that dude looked like a damn scarecrow standing up and giving no hands on blocker. He actually looked like he didn’t give 2 shites whole game

Like I haven’t seen dude make 1 play yet. Walking when the ball gets past him. Getting double teamed all game and can’t do a thing about it. Overrated

isn’t JJ supposed to play defense for us? lol
any shot that gets reconsidered??

I mean dude can ball for a HS QB, but nah. He’s too athletic in space to not have at DB, and doesn’t have the arm for a SEC caliber QB. I would love to be proved wrong but he will make a very fine addition to our secondary/skill

I know he’d never play QB for us, but in the slot or in the backfield?? looks electric with the ball in his hands

I would ride to put him anywhere where he can make moves with the ball in his hands. You aren’t lying, dude has wheels

A couple of observations from being at the game last night:
1) Johnson was the best player on the field last night by far. I don't think he's a QB prospect at LSU, but he needs the ball in his hands.
2) McKinley is not a 5 star. I've said this in other threads before last night. He has the size and measurables. He put up good stats last year. But he does not dominate, and will really have to develop to be a good SEC DT.
3) Hills is not real active either. Like McKinley, he looks real good in a uniform.
4) Russell Babineaux is a small, fast, raw athlete. I have no idea how he can get an LSU offer based on his production. Acadiana WR's basically run in the plays all game from the sideline. Again, a project.
Not trying to be negative, but no use losing your minds on some of these recruiting commitments.

Props to LCA for putting their games on YouTube. High school football is so hard to find. You can barely even get accurate score updates.

Damn, 8 TD’s for Johnson!

I kind of feel like JJ could be like a Travis Hunter for us.
Maybe not to the degree he starts on both sides, but I think he gets touches in some way along with of course playing DB.

But the Knights live by an "all gas, no breaks" mantra and any momentum the Wreckin' Rams had going into the locker room quickly evaporated when LCA senior quarterback and LSU commit Ju'Juan Johnson ripped off a 77-yard TD run on the first play of the third quarter.
Johnson and LCA didn't look back, running away from Acadiana, 61-38, at Bill Dotson Field on Friday night in the star-studded season opener. Earlier in the day, Acadiana five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley announced his commitment to Texas A&M.

While the lead changed four times in the first half, Johnson kept throwing haymakers for the Knights, accounting for his team's first eight TDs on the night — four passing and four rushing.
"We always say, 'all gas, no brakes,'" said Johnson, sporting a nasty gash across his forehead that he sustained on a play where his helmet was pulled out in the second quarter. "No matter the competition, from the highest seed to the lowest, we always keep going."
quote:
For the game, Johnson amassed 449 yards, 316 passing and 143 on the ground.
