No there are decent establishments in Tangi. There are a few not a lot but we really don't have a plethora of schools in general across the whole parish. At least it doesn't feel that way compared to others. Ponchatoula probably the best non private though.

They don't understand recruiting is fluid

yikes, and people wonder why this board works against LSU so much of the time. what a bunch of morons bad-mouthing an extremely talented kid that might just end up at LSU

So, Mr. Details, how serious do you think his interest in LSU is?
Ok. Here is the lowdown from what I have gathered throughout his recruitment. This isn't my gut feeling etc. I have spent a ton of time with this kid and he is an extremely impressive young man on and off the field. There are zero issues with character and he would be a tremendous locker room guy.
Here we go. Shyheim initially saw himself at LSU. The Tigers were slower than a few other programs in extending an offer, though. Kids don't understand the thorough vetting process they implore with in-state prospects. It didn't sit well with him initially. After a visit to Alabama, where they pushed for an early commitment, he kind of buckled and pulled the trigger.
Shortly after that he was having second thoughts, but LSU was a little bothered by the way things went down, so they were hesitant to jump right back into the race. Carter almost flipped to LSU on multiple occasions, but didn't, which further frustrated LSU coaches.
From there the contact slowed a bit, and then BOOM! His best friend Devonta Smith starts getting major attention from other prgrams; programs Carter was interested in, too. Much like the Carter situation, the Tigers were thorough in their evaluation of Smith, kind of leaving the same bad taste in his mouth.
Despite all of this, Carter continually showed interest in LSU, while the Tigers were cautiously receptive. Now we go into the other factor.
Carter is a family guy and he has a big one. There financial situation isn't the greatest, so them traveling to see him play far away would be difficult. LSU has always had a leg up in that regard.
I will spill the beans here. I have a LSU prediction piece coming out tomorrow that I completed today. He is already in that list. So, yes. I do believe LSU has a great chance to somehow pull this one off.

Y'all really need to shut the frick up and stop talking shite about Shy. He never cheered for Florida, he never showed up in Bama gear to any LSU event, he never recruited against us. So shut the frick up. The kid is thinking about staying home and becoming part of our greatest class ever. Cut it out with the message board rumors and innuendos and just look at the facts. Clearly the kid is sincere in his interest, otherwise our coaching staff wouldn't be going all out for him.
And to anyone trying to use the fact he has two children as a mark against his character, any frickboy can have a kid, but it takes a man to raise a child. By all accounts, Shyheim has done everything in his ability to raise those kids as best he can. That's a whole lot of responsibility to put on a 17-18 year old kid from small town Louisiana. A lot of people with his future and possibilities would've gone as far away as they could. Look at Karl Malone and all of the illegitimate children he's fathered.
So in conclusion, cut the bullshite, shut the frick up, and stop bashing the kid over something you read on this message board.

I was a candidate for the School Board in TP recently, the schools here are poor! Although few are improving!

There are many comments in this thread that are flat out ignorant guys. The kid has zero personal issues or red flags. No seond chance for a 17-18 year old kid with more responsibilities than most adults posting here? Really?
I used to tell this board how the negativity here has been a detriment to LSU's recruiting efforts. Some will question it, but I will tell you right know...You are absolutely clueless and have no clue as to what you are talking about. This is one of the most respectful young men I have encountered and many of you act like he is of questionable moral standing. Y'all really need to grow up and gain some perspective.
If you really cared about your beloved team, you would stop all the crap, stereotyping, throwing out false allegations and assumptions and quit being so damn narrow minded. People don't even have the perspective to understand how fluid recruiting is. I have tried to explain it, show it, but yet it's the same stuff over and over again. You guys have to do better. That's just the honest truth.

What he said.
Seriously though, we're talking about maybe the best player in the state.

Truly, if he's good and a local kid, we should roll out the red carpet. As a high school kid we've all done really dumb things (not saying Carter did the things he's been accused of) however, I think forgiveness is something that should be given for transgressions that are so minor. It's silly to talk crap about 18 year old kids. They're still growing and learning. Give them a break. All the hearsay is just that. Let the man show what he's capable of.

Jimmy dropping knowledge on fools.

So just to clarify. He didn't come to LSU recruiting for Alabama? And he didn't tweet he was against LSU against whatever opponent? Those "stories" were here multiple times.

Thanks jimmy and it's a shame how they bad mouth these kids but are going to root for them if they are on the field just like every other college. Y'all are ridiculous

Majority are for sure. Save a couple decent ones but there aren't any standouts. Middle of the pack at best. About like my school which I've heard is really bad now so they could be much worse off than it was 10 years ago when I had more of a pulse on this thing.

Thanks Jimmy, I'm still waiting to meet with you! You will be back in The Wood for #7 soon.

Kevin Faulk never had questions of character, the man is a multi Super bowl champion and stayed all 4 years at LSU. HE HAS NEVER HAD ANY QUESTION MARKS throughout his recruitment. Don't compare the best back to come through LSU to a high school kid that isn't even verbally committed.
