What is the deal with U High? Is the word out they just all dislike LSU, did we not recruit them? On the 247 site they must have 7 guys in the states top 25 recruits and they all are going elsewhere, the only one even listed as a shot is Christian Harris. I sure hope this staff knows what they're doing, because it sure looks like for the state they have put all their eggs in the top 10 recruits baskets.

I know we've never done that well recruiting them, but to have such a load of talent on one football team and it's a lab school on campus and to not be really recruiting any of them seems very odd.

Who said that we were "not be really recruiting any of them" ???

There does appear to be a problem there, but I'm sure we are after the ones we want unless they have told us that there is no chance.

We have zero shot at Harris. I for one would love to know as well from any insiders of what the deal is.

Some kids just want a change of scenery, especially if they’ve gone to school on LSU’s campus. Is it really a huge loss if we don’t sign any of their kids in 19? Harris has the most potential, but even he is a risk once he gets to college.

Kid is enjoying flirting with all the other schools, and being recruited, which is fine to a point. But he needs to realize he isn't irreplaceable, and if he does want a spot in this year's class, he needs to get on board sooner than later. Once the seats on the bus are full, the bus leaves with or without him on it.

While it sucks like you said of course, this is a good point. Sometimes people don't want to live their whole life in Baton Rouge and make a name for themselves in a different city and college. I don't blame the kids if this is their thought process and if that's what they want to do, then I support them.

Agreed, although of the last big 4 I can remember from there, we’ve actually split with Bama (Brosette and Brumfield vs. Williams and Moses). Of course, one could argue that splitting 50/50 on in-state kids with your biggest rival is unacceptable.

I get the whole change of scenery thing, that's why I would have never have gone to UL growing up in Lafayette. But it still seems weird that with 5 or more division one prospects none really were considering and/or recruited by LSU.

I don't remember LSU fans giving Dylan Moses a pass for that. Maybe everyone is fine with it this year because it just doesn't involve Bama as much. Harris seems to be only one with that possibility.

Like I said, O and staff better not miss on the top 10, or it's going to get real ugly on this board.

Harris is the only one with an offer. And we first offered Harris for offense, while every other team offered him for defense.

I think Starks and Brooks (and Dean, but they're not getting him) were the top priorities at LB in this class. Harris, Constantin, and Tongue from U High can play, but become kind of redundant once Starks commits when we have limited spots in this class. Devin goes pro, but does LSU lose any other LBs after the season?

Why'd the bus show up so late?

The problem with Louisiana kids and offers from LSU is that once an offer goes out to an LSU kid, they pretty much have to honor it, or they end up burning that bridge with the school. This isn't always the best case as situations like this where you get in on a kid later that you probably should have. It kind of puts the coaches in a tough spot. Out of state kids can have offers pulled or not take their commit with much less backlash than you'd see out of instate kids.

Mike Hollins has been to almost every engagement he can, and I believe he really wants his offer. If what's being said in another thread on Emery is true, I imagine we'll sign him along with Tyrion.

This has to do with the proximity of the school and calling LSU “ 13th grade” as much as anything. I mean , I can go back 30 years to when Brad Banta was there and he picked USC. Some kids just want a change of scenery.

Just a question... Does anyone else remember when UHigh didn't recruit their arse off and was just another football team in BR? Up until around seven years ago they were lucky to just have one kid in the top 25. Now each year they have some stud they brought in.

Many of those kids don't have offers. I don't know what the deal is but I just assume LSU thinks they have better prospects lined up. It's a shame because I know a lot of them would like play for LSU if they were shown some interest/offered early on.

Of course, they were still garbage in 2010. Then they got Tim Williams to come from Glen Oaks and Nick Brosette as an 8th grader. Rest was history.

So do they bring these kids in when they are younger, or do they get them to transfer in just for high school? I'm just curious because when I was growing up UHigh didn't have the demographic range they do today.

Back when my mom attended, you either had to be very wealthy or have a parent on the faculty to attend.

u-High players are notorious for not living up to expectations. Who cares? LSU should limit the free tuition at its Lab School.
