Oh, look. It's the #1 Curtis apologist Shocked it took so long. I guess LSU staff with no particular ax to grind made up the stuff about redshirting. And I'm sure one of their alums made up the story about being asked to repeat a grade prior to HS.

quote:Whether they admit it or not, it's common knowledge that Curtis, Evangel, Calvary, Karr, and St. Aug are loaded with a bunch of old arse players. But all that aside, I still think they can be beaten! I've personally asked parents at camps how old certain players were. Ofcouse they lied. Then I'd ask the kid and ask him his birth date. They can't think that fast and mistakenly give their ACTUAL birth date! Which is ALWAYS a year or two older than the age they and their parents quoted!

The UHigh guys on here are funny. Why don't you write the LHSAA about the bearded guys on the other teams? Fact of the matter is 19 is eligible, so you sound like a guy who has to make excuses since you can't get it done. Btw, what's uhighs ood sched?

I'm sure that you take a lot of pride in the practices of your school leading to the demise of the LHSAA, and some suggest, the beginning of the end of HS sports as we know it in Louisiana (Tennessee cited as an example). But be sure and puff your chest out and polish all those trophies while the LHSAA burns.

The meek might inherit the earth, and the L H S A A...
But I don't give a damn about the meek in H S football. Those Friday games in the dome should be.fun with teams that shouldn't be.there.

folks... one thing is certain... at every school there are kids playing sports that were held back in one way shape or form or another....
even the bastions of academia.....
every case is in fact different and some are valid.........
but every school has em.. some many more than others...

You are a drama queen. The LHSAA is going to fold because their leadership is horrible. Even your complaints about older kids are the fault of the LHSAA who allow 19 year olds to play. U High has all the resources of ECA and Curtis so its only U Highs fault for not being a top team. Hell, U High should easily be better than both. Cheaper tuition, better facilities, its an accessory to LSU, and a talent rich BR to pull from.

We finally agree on something.

U-High pulls from the BR area, Curtis pulls from all of SE Louisiana, ECA from Arkansas to SE Texas. We don't have the ability to find kids parents jobs the way these others have (unless you count the LSU coaches kids, and they don't always go to U-High)

doesn't u high have a few kids that come from 30 miles away?
granted that is further than Larose to river ridge.. which was a rare exception at curtis

not trying to argue.... just asking a question....nothing more nothing less....
if anyone should be but hurt it should be the comets.....
and everyone knows. .the westbank alone has enough talent to win at any hs level in la..... as evidenced by the state title appearances by shaw, wj, ehret, OPW and Karr... heck throw in hahnville too...

Not many. Very few from surrounding parishes that have better school systems than EBR. Most are like mine-living in town, having to escape the legacy of Judge Parker. A few kids that have alumni parents, or started there before the families bolted for the burbs, but those are few.

I'd love to put a team of our alums as college freshmen together and play your middle school team. At least they would all be the same age.

I just had a curtis asst coach this weekend tell me they only have 2 kids that play sports that live outside of the parishes directly bordering jefferson.... and one of those is a relative of a coach...
heck a certain LSU running back was about 15 days away from being too old to play his senior year.... and yeah.. he was a man among boys.. literally....
I will say this.. the curtis staff works extremely hard... I know.. they went and watched Uhigh play several times last year... - how many times did the u high staff go watch curtis?
the way they execute with good athletes.. is where their real advantage is... I had a good friend who was on their staff for a couple of years... he said many times - they worked harder and longer there than at any other place he coached...
curtis and eca should be playing in 4a or 5a for football..... and we all know why that doesn't happen anymore...
yeah my kid has to deal with them too... it's good motivation for racheting up the work ethic... and no.. holding back our son was never in the discussion...
does anyone know how california dealt with de la salle?
