One from Clemson and Mich St
Do you go after those transfers or happy with what you have?

C.J. Fuller has been pretty mediocre to bad his career. Madre London at MSU has been the same.
Not worth adding either

Agree. I think we can manage with the kids we have. Find a cb

I'd rather just roll with what we have & sign 3 RB's in the 2019 class. If our O-Line is as good as we think it will be...we should be able to get by.
I have high hopes for Curry. Hopefully he works out for us.

I like London, alot. That being said I'd rather roll with what we got and use those 2 spots for a 2019 loaded class.

RB isn't really a position that requires experience. I agree, don't burn a new counter spot on another 1 year rental. Save it for 2019.

Averaged 3.66 yards per carry this last season, 83 carries for 304 yards. 4.0 ypc for his career, that's bad.
Although at 6'1 218 at least he has size to take some lumps.

If either one of them wants to come they are a take no question.

Guys, we have 5 scholarships runningbacks on this team, we dont need to take a transfer unless they are actually good enough to play.
Not like we have 2 or 3 RBs.
We have Brosette, CEH, Curry, Provens and little Fournette. Brosette, CEH and Curry could easily carry us, if you can find someone better than them, THEN you take someone. These guys were mediocre to bad players buried on depth charts.

quote:Can add Ducre to that list too. There isn't a great need. I think CEH is going to be a stud- period. Have very high hopes for Curry, but not for a freshman campaign (he's got some adjustments to do to his style). High hopes for Ducre too.

As for London, don't get me wrong- not saying he's a stud by any means. I do think he's 'solid', and I do like his style alot; vision not so much. Some paralells here: MSU's running game was poor this last year; they dealt with OL issues/youth and London had an ankle injury.
Even in context, still doesn't make him a take. much less a no-brainer take. Put it this way, there's LJ Scott -> big gap -> Holmes/London.

How many carries between these guys?

Not much but still doesnt change the fact we shouldn't take a BAD RB transfer who struggled for multiple years at another school. Again, if you can find someone better, then take them. We dont need a 3rd or 4th string RB.

From a coaches perspective you’d like a guy with some experience back there even if it’s limited. Have someone to stick back there with the green QB. Maybe one is good in pass pro. Fuller has returned kicks. London had a successful year as a FR. Simply looking at college stats doesn’t always tell the story with RBs as the nfl proves year after year

But you do make a good point, experience is very helpful with a young QB (and OL too). Helping him recognize what he's looking at or even simply making correct calls in the huddle is important. There has been many an audible called by RBs; and many blitz pick up missed by them too.

so we would get the clemson cast away while etienne starts at clemson
that would be too perfect

I think we're fine this year with CEH, Curry, Brossette, Provens, Ducre, and Lanard.
CEH will surprise people and I think Curry will be getting a lot of carries by the end of the year.
Wouldn't mind getting a transfer CB with some experience though.

Y'all are crazy if you think O isn't going to try to sign one. He's proven so far he cares about two things: loyalty to his guys and keeping his job. In order to try to keep his job (and those of his guys), he'll sign at least one more grad transfer for next year. Holding a spot for '19 doesn't do him any good if he doesn't win in '18.
I disagree with it, but his track record says it's not about putting LSU in the best position, just himself and his loyalties.
