2nd tier for about 2 years now? wow.

Guess by your logic you could say LSU is 2nd tier too and Bama is 1st tier? Since you are saying AU is second tier off a down year and a 9-4 year, why not LSU after one at 8-5 last year. You really are not supporting your arguement at all.

Fact is you go back any significant length of time and AU is right there. You look at the last 10 years, LSU > AU. Look at the last 20, AU is probably better. You look at the last 30, AU is definitely better (nationally speaking based on national rankings by decade).

Hell you bo back to 2003-2007 and AU is averaging 10 wins a year and is 6-1 against the top 5 (best in the country over that 5 year stretch that included BOTH LSU NCs) and 9-3 vs the top 10.

So one down year and one 9-4 year, AU is 2nd tier? Might as well say LSU is too since they had a down year at 8-4 last year by your logic.

Why go back just 30 years? Why not just use this decade? GT has won one less SECC's than Auburn

Right now, barn is a second tier program, and everyone in the SEC knows it

The only time you can use "tiers" in the SEC validly is going back historically over long periods of time. Going year to year, teams are to fluid and become nearly impossible to place into a "tier" accurately.

It also would have helped if you had placed that "Right now" disclaimer in the original post, because when people talk about tiers in the SEC, as I have said, they are almost always talking historically, and not the time of a short window.

I'd also like to point out that if we are only using this decade:

LSU Record: 90-27
Auburn Record: 80-34

I still fail to see any really significant difference, other than to say LSU has 10 more wins over a 9 year period.

WTF is this shite? Are you some sort of fricking retard? Yeah, AU has more SEC championships than GT this decade. Fact is GT has the same number of SEC championships last decade as LSU.

WTF kinda arguement is this? You seem to be an idiot.

To go a bit further:

Records by decade:

2000's
Auburn: 80-34
LSU: 90-27

1990's
Auburn: 72-40
LSU: 54-58 (losing record for a decade, think you have to go back to the 1940's or 1920's for AU here)

1980's
Auburn: 86-31
LSU: 70-41

Totals:
AU: 238 wins over the last 3 decades.
LSU: 214 wins over the last 3 decades.

We have been BETTER 2 out of the last 3 decades and there is not much difference this decade (1 win per year).

You want to go back to the modern era of college football when scholarship limits were put in place? 1992 when the SEC expanded? 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, all time? In all aspects if you want to call AU a 2nd tier program, so is LSU.

Give it up man. You hate Auburn, we understand that; but you lost this argument because quite frankly, its a really fricking stupid argument on your part.

I read somewhere that Seastrunk's pastor in Texas is pushing him to Auburn becuase the pastor's son is a coach with the War Chickens.

I found the article with quotes from Lache's pastor:
quote:

"We stay in touch, but I'm not helping him recruit anybody,' Gibson said. "I didn't send him anybody when he was at Oklahoma State. I didn't send him anybody when he was at New Mexico. I ain't sending him anybody to Auburn.
"That's his business. He doesn't recruit church members for me. I don't recruit football players for him."

Trovon is warming up to LSU. He has been going every weekend and hanging out with the football players. Still not even close to a lock though.

I'd be willing to bet anyone on Trovon coming to LSU. I don't care about any interview written by a Texas Scout mod or an Auburn Rivals guy. Doesn't matter. He won't announce early, he'll go on all of his visits, he'll say complementary things about any school he goes to, then he'll sign with LSU.

People on here and other boards will over-analuze his words and trips and freak out, and it will be all for nothing. The fact that people are discussion Trovon to "anywhere but LSU" is ridiculous.

yeah so easy to find we don't have one. we'll have a big bruiser in Ford, another bruiser coming off a knee surgery and a guy who will end up at CB. in fact it could get ugly with the depth issues if we don't hit homeruns this year in recruiting.

just FYI in case any family members of mr Seastrunk happen to be reading
