When Travis was directly asked if he would consider LSU if they offered he said "No." That doesn't mean he can't change his mind but that is what he is saying right now. I know more about this kid's recruitment than anyone on this board. Trust me. Everyone in Jennings is hoping Travis goes to LSU but right now it's not looking like a possibility. Virtually every school in the SEC has offered him except LSU. It's perplexing.

We are after bigger fish at RB, what else can we do? We cant just hand out offers to every LA prospect and hope they dont commit while we pursue national guys like Cam Akers. Akers is the traditional LSU big back who does really well here.

I'm from Jennings, an immediately family member has a high position at the school and this came directly from Coach Phelps' mouth. It happened.

Your avi is a picture making Miles look like the retard from slingblade. You're not exactly an unbiased source. shite like this gets passed around the telephone game. The assistant probably just said the board is pretty tight at RB and they won't hold it against him for looking around. Better to be honest with the kid than bullshite him.

OOS schools do this all the time. They have nothing to lose by pulling the kid's offer down the line. Where was Saban's full court press while Akers was committed to them? LSU can't do that kind of thing in their own back yard, it gets talked about for years. Other programs will just write that HS or town off and fly to another.

LSU does the same thing, all big programs do, just not here. If you offer an instate guy you have to be prepared for him to commit. Same exact thing is happening with Bryan Jones and Ole Miss right now. If his grades don't get better Ole Miss will quietly tell him he doesn't have a spot any more and sign someone to take his place.

The kid is really good, great vision, good speed, no one caught him, really good balance, seemed really strong for his size. Definitely a take in my opinion. But Melvin Gordon, not quiet Melvin, Melvin Gordon is and exceptional elite running back, and one of the best i have every seen in college.

LSU offering would mean a lot bc he is home grown nd loves for his family to be able to see him play but with so many showing interest while they wait to see what the backs theyve already offered do theyre going to have to make a lot of ground up...he already has a school in mind thats been steady picking his brain but right now everyone is telling him what he wants to hear nd he's weighing all options at the moment...but bottom line im an LSU fan all the way so im hoping for them to get it together cam akers isnt everything nd i dont think he's as good as travis...he's only going to get better stronger nd faster last year he was 5'10 183 now he's 5'11 201 nd he's only 17 with no skills training thats why he doesnt excel at the camps in anything but athletic ability performances he doesnt train for the camps but watch his vision nd explosiveness on film he'll be front runner for gatorade player of the year this year

You sound like somewhat of a homer, but then again I have to admit.. even though I feel we will both be in the minority here.. Etienne's film definitely impresses me more. I'm blown away by the burst and he breaks tackles in his own right.

I imagine Akers is higher rated because of his size and potential to take more abuse..? but my goodness Etienne's film just jumps out at you.

Old school comparison. He reminds me of Eric Dickerson. Flat footed runner and very fast!

Gordon was rated a 3 star across the board nationally by almost all of the top recruiting sites. They are both rated 4 stars by 247. Etienne's running style is very similar to Gordon's, I'm comparing their styles as high school athletes, watch Gordon's high school videos and tell me you can't see similarities. Etienne (199 lbs) is actually more physically developed than Gordon (182 lbs) at the same point as high school athletes.
