Safe to say all these transfer portal guys are soft and not worth a look if they aren’t an upper classman transferring? Young, selfish, biter players who get beat out at one school probably will never amount to anything at the next stop

This is the dumbest take. Do you not remember Joe Burrow using the transfer portal to come to LSU from Ohio State??

Quinn Ewers , who forwent his senior season at Southlake Carrol, TX to enroll early at Ohio State, announced he will enter transfer portal. Was #1 QB in 22 class before leaving high school a year early.

Joe Burrow

I’m not talking about guys who spent a couple years at a school trying to earn a spot. I’m taking about the spoiled Brat like Ewers who got beat out essentially as a high school senior and moved on. How many other LSU players transferred in/out and actually amounted to anything with more than 1-2 years eligibility left?

The LSU Women’s basketball player that scored 25 points to lead LSU to the upset last night is at her 4th College.

Do you not remember Burrow trying to play for 3 years at Ohio State and getting beat out as a Junior? Big difference in that guy giving it his all, being a respected guy on that squad for his effort and then simply looking for an opportunity when there clearly wasn’t one.

Big difference in a guy like that and a guy like Ewers

So like Baker, Kyler, Justin Fields who got beat out by other guys left for new schools and became top draft picks and Heisman Winners/Finalist

Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray

These are not like many. Baker had a fantastic year as a freshman at Tech. He left due to issues with the coaching staff, not bc he didn’t win the job and was mad about it.

Kyler won the job at A&M and elected to go to what he thought was a better opportunity at OU.

These two won the jobs at their respective schools as freshmen and only elected to move on after being successful at their previous stops.

Most other freshmen or sophomores that are transferring are on the move bc of lack of playing time

And if you look at Fields, he went from UGA with a terrible offense that didn’t suit him to OSU that was perfect for his skill set

Pretty sure Burrow was a graduate transfer. He earned his degree at Ohio St. and was free to transfer with his remaining eligibility.

In some cases, certain things may have just not fit right. There just wasn't good alignment. In most cases though, if you're leaving after 1 year though, and in the case of Ewers, yes, he's had everything he could possibly ever want in life and isn't up for character building.

This. The amount of people that don't know that amazes me.

Correct, the transfer portal had not been created when Burrow transferred. He was eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.
