50% of kids don't sign to another school. Thats insane. Some of these guys want greener grass and end up in the desert.

28% of kids actually landed at a new school last year. 28%.

Wow, I knew it was bad, but those numbers are shocking. Putting it in perspective, I've seen estimates of over 3k entering the portal when all is said and done.

So absolutely are. And frankly, I can't blame all of them. If you are a kid from a home of limited means and you have the opportunity to earn $50k, $100k, (maybe more) RIGHT NOW, I can understand why they would try. Very few of these guys are going to reach the NFL. It sucks for the fans of CFB, but that is the system.

Captain obvious moment: The portal in combination with NIL is the definition of Pandora’s box, and there are essentially no rules. I think it would be very wise to put some eligibility rules back into place before this thing reaches critical mass and can’t be reigned in.

I know, get off my lawn. But it’s impossible to argue that the current state is good for college football.

Most end up back at the same school. There is a deadline to enter so for this reason someone like Nuss will have to enter at some point to have a plan b until he finds out what JD will do with the draft.

The sample size isn’t large enough to say that will remain the case, though. Hell, even in the NFL, free agency has rules. This shite’s the Wild West!

Gonna have a ton of kids that are very disappointed and find themselves at a very very lower P5, FCS, D3 or JUCO or completely out of football and paying for a college education.

The portal is going to hurt the 3 star kids that maybe had a chance of getting to an LSU, GA or Bama with a last spot. Think about Justin Jefferson and Cushenberry. They were 3 star kids that in the portal era won't get a chance at a top 15 program
Programs are going to use those spots for the portal transfer that have a chance to help sooner.
