My heart sank when he said “I know most people here probably think I’m going to LSU, but…yeah.”

Call me a sissy I don’t care. We needed him!!! And we got him!!!

Yeah I’ve sworn off following the recruiting board every year since I was in middle school — but I just can’t stop. It’s an illness.

Maybe in the video games. Recruiting is a circus now.

I follow recruiting to a point. I can't get too bothered about any kid past the next recruiting class. '24 commits mean nothing.

And I appreciate that it's their moment and all, but I'll just wait until someone tells me what they decided. I'm not going to speculate about the color of their socks or what shirt they have on underneath.

So is Toviano expected to officially sign next week?

We’ll look a little different in the secondary next year. Hopefully we get Ricks next and then the transfer from A&M works out like Perkins. All we need is like 3-4 big DT/DEs. Really just need some good run-stoppers to add to our pass rushers. That and one good tackling machine at LB in the middle. Maybe we can develop that but we definitely need depth at DL. Get that and we should have one helleva season next year! We have to start proving to these HS elite DLman that LSU is the place to be.

I think he slipped up when he said he was not staying home early on. I was happy with the slip up and felt pretty comfortable that we would beat out Michigan.

I know what you mean - for me, recruiting is an outlet to dream on (sometimes unrealistic) positive outcomes, whereas i spend many games just worried about bad outcomes lol.

That being said, the highs you can get from a game every once in a while are simply unrivaled by the highs from recruiting (or drugs or anything else). E.g. being in tiger stadium this past November 5th was one of the most fun stretches of 4 hours I ever have and probably ever will experience. Even landing a class like TAMU '22 can't produce half the pure unadulterated joy as that game.

I caught that too--when he corrected that "i wanted to stay home" statement, he was juuuuuust a little too enthusiastic with the "I mean... THOUGHT i wanted to stay home" lol.

Though i will say that his "i know you guys all think i'm choosing LSU" had me a tiny bit worried, and the oregon hat had me fully melting down for that two second span before he switched up again. I actually think the Oregon thing was one of the better trick reveals I've seen.

Definitely need more depth in the trenches. I remember seeing a stat post-Georgia game showing that LSU starting DL averaged 60-something snaps vs. Georgia DL averaging 30-something snaps over the game. Gotta have constant rotation and fresh bodies to compete with the big dogs.
