This kid is the real deal. He played against my old high school last week. He's a monster. Some saying maybe the best MS player ever.

Who knows, JJ could at least try to sell him on being the next Jackson or Henderson (both Mississippi guys). He probably doesn't even consider LSU if Simmons doesn't commit, so that committment is paying off already. LSU's got some things going in it's favor. Only 2.5 hours from Jackson. Two MD All-Americans on the current team with one being from MS. Another MD All-American lock committed for the 2015. A VERY famous basketball alum who is more involved in his former college than many superstars. The final push however is that they surely wanted to get him down while both Stringer and O'Bryant are still on the team. Certainly doesn't hurt to have a guy from your hometown (Stringer) telling you all the great things about LSU.
It's a longshot, yes. But remember, there was a time LSU used to get big-time players from all over the country (LA, NY, Chicago, etc.)

I'm sure he's damn good, but I don't know if we'll ever see a player out of MS better than Chris Jackson. He was the best basketball player I've ever seen in person.

Monte Ellis was absolutely sick in high school. Just YouTube some of his high school games. Chris Jackson & Monte Ellis tooked over games. Newman is unreal and will be in the NBA. But those two guys were scorers. Wished I could have seen Jonathan Bender too. He was basically like a Kevin Garnett before he tore his knees up.

Top MS 2014 basketball player going to Kentucky. Malik is from Callaway and good friends with Callaway football players in 2014 class that are committed to Ole Miss (4 players I think). I am from MS but I don't know about connections to Stringer or JOB. Monta was pretty dang good and Chris Jackson. MS also produced Al Jefferson who is underrated PF/C in the NBA. Hope we can get Malik on campus
