So Finley had 469 yards, 5 total TD this past weekend against a 6-1 Mandeville team and 320 yards another few TDs last week as well.

It was, but the criticism of Finley has been really strange and all over the place as justus2 laid out. I'm hesitant to say it's definitely racially motivated, but I can certainly see how someone might feel it is.

Very impressive stats, but take em with a grain of salt. Not good competition at all

Mandeville is 6-1 and a Top 20 team in the state per maxpreps rankings

Must not be paying attention to the past month and a half on the field performance in contrast to last year.

Im from the northshore. There isn’t much talent that comes from there. All the football talent is on the southshore. That mandeville team would get destroyed if they played a team like karr, warren easton, rummel, or john curtis. Example: they lost to hahnville 34-13

I didnt say they were a Top 5 team in the state, I said Top 20. Hahnville is ranked #6 by maxpreps.

Finley tore up a pretty good Mandeville team was the point, 470 yards and 5 total TD.

He just dropped 76 spots in the 247 Composite rankings, and is now a 3*

Mandeville’s record is due to their offense, not defense

They were giving up 18.5 ppg before playing Ponch. Ponch put up 40, a season high against Mandeville.

They held 1 team to 3 and shut another out.

That's because 247 dropped him like 365 spots in their own rankings

Come on man. They shut out Hannan

And the game where they gave up 3 was against 1-7 Woodlawn.

I have watched them play. Their offense is explosive and they have a great kicker that kicks all touchbacks as well.

I am not saying Finley can’t do it against a good defense.

I didnt say they have a great defense, but they were averaging 18.5 ppg given up before playing Ponch and Finley threw for 470 and Ponch put up 40 on them (most on season). So that counts for something.

Dont understand why people just automatically dismiss things like this because it wasn't against Brother Martin or Hahnville. Just because you're good but not great doesnt mean it was unimpressive.

Alright fine, the ball does have to be thrown accurately to hit the receivers hands. I’ll agree to that.

Not being sarcastic
