It seems that the ones who commit and don’t waver at the last minute get little hype from the fans. Very little has been said about our tremendous inside linebacker haul.

Sampah is a top 100 player in the country and the number 4 ranked inside linebacker. White is the number 7 ranked inside linebacker and just got voted top defensive player in Houston.

Anytime you get two of the top ten players at one position in the same class, that means a lot of top programs will have no top ten recruits at that position.

By all reports these guys will sign on Wednesday and hopefully will play shoulder to shoulder in the heart of the tiger defense for several years to come. With Clark and Baskerville coming back, inside linebacker will be a solid position for LSU.

So here is a tip of the tiger hat to two guys who could have created a lot of drama and buzz but stuck firm to their commitments. And they both are very athletic kids who fit the mold for LSU defenses of the past with fast and hard hitting players.

There is a special place in my heart for recruits who commit early, and go about improving themselves and representing their HS team and fans without all the drama.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love an undecided young man seeing the light and signing with the Tigers.

Was a five-star.

He's still very highly rated but got bumped downward after the latest evaluations.

I'm wondering if there is still concern for some evaluators about his knee. Regardless, huge get for LSU.

Of the two, Sampah looks the most physically ready to play in the SEC. He looks like a thumper.

White looks like he needs another 20 pounds or so to play inside and could benefit from a year or two in the weight room.

That said, you never know. I have watched a ton of high school football and sometimes it’s the smaller guy who brings the bigger thump. Jonathan Vilma and Sam Mills were smallish to play inside but could thump the snot out of people.

Wonder no more..... it’s likely not about his knee but the fact he can’t generate anymore attention for them or isn’t going to Bama

Agreed. A lot to be said for kids who don’t feel the need to make recruiting a circus

Sampah had acl surgery in January and was back onthe field this season. Simple acl tears are not what they used to be. The injury is easily fixed and barring complications players have full and complete recovery from acl surgery.

If Sampah is an early enrollee my guess is he would be at full speed during spring practice.

White is the kind of player that will the team, SEC and hell maybe the nation in tackles. He was born to play LB.

Great post. Both of these guys and Webb are going to be animals.

Our front 7 class this year is amazing.

Sampah and Gilbert have been the 2 biggest, unexpected commits this year.

Both led me to say...what? We actually landed that guy. Sweet.

Sampah cannot enroll early, his school is in on a seven period calendar and he won’t have the class credits until end of the year in June.

Woodbridge was our crosstown rival growing up. Been a long time since they put out this kind of talent. DeShawn Hand was the first in like 10 years for them.

THIS! Physical and fast looking group with good size on the line, and athletic on the outside and across the 2d level. Hope everything goes as planned this week.
