That's what Jim McElwain did for FL and we see how that ended up.

BK had plenty of character guys at ND. He wants to win NCs and you don't do that without 5-stars.

Dealing with difficult personalities that come with *some* elite players is the cost of doing business.

Is it actually the player or the culture created by the coach? I don't see Dabo or Saban having many issues with problem personalities.

If Coach Kelly wanted to coach a bunch of high character 3 stars he would have stayed at Notre Dame.

Why do people say this crap??? You can get both people! You can get both the best talent with the best athletic skills and character. Now I absolutely agree that you don’t need a roster full of 5* talent to win big and win consistently but you have to have a mix of both.

I think it’s nonsense to believe that LSU will ever just stop recruiting 5* talent simply to accumulate great character kids here. So I also don’t understand the people who get so upset when others say this. It makes sense in a way but schools like LSU have the ability to recruit both here. 5* talent with great character, 4* talent with great character and 3* talent with great talent.

We have been trying to do that here and we will continue to do so but hopefully with success!
