A Nebraska insider just put in a CB for a flip from a TE committed to Miami Ohio to Nebraska. This might be all we need for Fidone to come here. I am aware they wont have any depth there and im sure fidone isn't scared to compete but it certainly wont help Nebraska.
Maryland TE

LJ Johnson just got 2 cbs to Texas.
LJ Johnson 24/7

Maybe, maybe not. It could actually be writing on the wall that Fidone is leaving and that they tried to get him to not take that visit and he said no, somewhat like Burch last year. I do think that if they flip a TE that it will affect his decision in some way.

That he could start day one at nebraska

idk, the tight end in question is a top 10 player in Nebraska.. That could be like us losing on Dieon Smith and pivoting to a "lower" ranked Louisiana receiver like Keon Coleman.. Not identical situations OBVIOUSLY.. but i see this as only helpful for our chances

I dont get what you are saying
If they want 2 tight ends wouldnt they take a top 10 player in the state and then swing for the top guy

Gilbert did not come to LSU because Kole Taylor committed

Isn't that correct?

Im not saying they arent swinging for the top guy. Im trying to say it could be indicative of a swing in momentum. When a team feels the momentum swing away from them for a player, they often switch gears to another player. For example (not proven yet just my personal theory) Alabama is raking in CBs for Malcolm Johnson Jr., which indicated to me they believe their recruitment of Brian Thomas Jr. is going south. This is all speculation of course.

Doubt this commit is a sign regarding Fidone's interest in committing to Huskers.

It could be.

It could also mean that Nebraska is planning to take 2 tight ends and recently found this guy and decided that they like him a lot and decided to take him from Miami Ohio. It does not at all mean they are no longer pursuing Fidone who is undoubtedly the top guy on their board.

I tend to think it means nothing about Fidone.

Looks like we are locked in on Kiner. Gotta let Faulk get his guys in. Id give him at least 2 years and then evaluate from there.

So...LJ Johnson is so highly rated and is an LSU legacy, yet we're supposed to believe he's picking Texas over LSU?

Color me skeptical

I'm with you. That's quite a stretch to make that inference.
