JW27 doesn’t run 4.4, obviously, but it’ll be difficult to find a better back than him that’s willing to transfer in and compete for carries. Williams will be fully involved in 2023 and no transfer will be guaranteed the majority of work.

Averaging 5.2 per carry on the season, 6.2 over his past 4 games.

I know there are lots of holes to fill, but I think running back is the most important.

You cannot win big at the SEC level with your QB as your leading rusher.

All of this. I had been looking at this and seeing this as such a hole.

If Tyjae Spears doesn't go pro, we should get in his ear at Tulane. He'd be a 5th year senior next year if he comes back, but man this kid has SPEED. Listed at 5'11 195 and averaged 6.2 ypc with nearly 1200 yards and 14 TDs. He also had 20 receptions foe 240 and 2 TDs. Again, if he doesn't declare for the draft. This kid is worth a big NIL deal.

With our entire offensive line returning, I think LSU would be an easy sell to a top running back.

Come to LSU, be the featured back, go pro and be a high draft pick.

Unless you get a guy like Gibbs in the portal which will almost surely will happen based on how the portal is filling up already. You absolutely make a run for an elite player like that and let Williams be good depth behind him.

You likely lose Goodwin to Auburn in this scenario which would suck. He's very injury prone though even dating back to HS. Can't stay healthy. If JD is back it's an easy sell for an elite RB because he'll open the run game up even more for a fully returning OL. Zone reads would be a nightmare for defenses with JD's elite speed. If he progresses even a little in passing watch out.

There's no rebuild anymore. LSU should compete for a playoff spot and possibly NC next year. We just got to make the right moves in the portal like we did this year. If they can get guys like Roy, Garner, Converse to stay somehow even better.

Teams like A&M can put full effort starting now, due to their terrible season, which sucks!!

It's a recruiting dead period. And we have an entire recruiting department that is not involved in game-planning or practicing.

Ah, didn't know that. I doubt Garner and Roy stay anyway. Their stock probably isn't getting any higher.

I think Garner is gone. Roy would be a nice surprise, he’s pretty effective.

TE is a big need still for LSU. Denbrock runs a lot of 3 TE sets and he tried to force the square peg in the round hole this year with it. He had games where he'd run Kole Taylor out with Mason when Kole has no place being on the field over superior talent at WR. They lack depth there so they absolutely will get a big TE out of the portal here.

Make the holes and the RBs we have can run through them. Go get elite O-linemen and the RB position will fall in place.

I've got info that Florida RB T. Etienne will likely be transferring to LSU.
