I read (not sure how creditable the source is and assumed this is last years stats) out of 18 targets to his WR he had 11 Ints and 6 pass break ups

He's a very bad man and I can't wait to see him suit up

That was in the link I posted on page 1 of this thread. It is made by his HS HC, Neil Weiner, in a NOLA.com feature. From the date it had to be referring to his Junior year stats. He said the only completion on him that year was a short out to the sideline before the half in a prevent defense where he was playing back.

He’s very much a Patrick Peterson type that is instantly the best athlete on the team.
I actually think Stingley is a more "fluid” runner than Peterson, if that makes any sense. Not only incredible straight line speed, but great hips and lateral movement as well. He will be fun to watch, that's for sure.

Watched some of his highlights. Guy is a fast and smooth runner, looks like he’s playing against special ed kids out there though.

He also solves our punt return issues immediately

I saw it in the comments of a youtube video where they compare a 5* player to a 1*. They use Stingley for the 5*

Yes, he's that good. Has it all. Plus, he's very fast (faster than PP), he might return punts for us next year too.

Honestly with measurables like that who you're playing against in highschool is irrelevant bc they all are going to look silly.

Stingley is what joe McKnight was when everyone said h should play CB
Posted on 11/17/18 at 3:19 pm to BayouRat15
Dude knows how to play man coverage AND ZONE

Let’s hope his game matches the hype cause I’m thinking we might lose Fulton also. Hopefully that’s wrong and stingley isn’t immediately forced into the starting lineup.

Gumps think they are flipping him.

I have seen him play several times You can tell he has great speed and athleticism. He glides. He does not show any nonsense either.. Other than that it is very hard to tell because the competition was not even close.
I do not know if his highest and best use is corner or WR. He is a very good return guy.
Hoping he is at a Patrick Peterson level.

I bear good news on this subject, because per a conversation I had with somebody on the inside today they don't currently expect to lose anybody to the NFL other than Greedy and Devin White...and, perplexingly enough, possibly Damien Lewis.
But Stingley is a massive upgrade for this team next year, because he single-handedly fixes the return game and he gives you an outside corner which enables you to keep Vincent in the nickel - a colossal luxury almost nobody in college football will have - PLUS you have Joseph you can rotate in.
And putting Stingley on the punt and kickoff teams will insure nobody ever gets a return off on us.
He will make a huge difference. There's a reason he's a Top 5 national recruit. Stingley and Emery/Davis resolve half the problems we currently have (Rosenthal and Marshall/Chase could resolve the other half).

How does Stingley compare to Deion Sanders coming out of HS?
Posted on 11/18/18 at 8:52 pm to macaoidh
Damien Lewis is probably NFL ready. Hope he stays with us though

Good post. I agree. While I still think it's a bit of a longshot, if we could get Ingram back next year, it'd be huge.

Nobody on LSU’s Oline is NFL ready.
Lewis hasn’t impressed me very much vs SEC competition.
Probably a case of struggling academically and ready to try and make some $.
