Is he honestly any good? From what I gathered he was pretty underwhelming at USC on a defense that may have been worse than LSU this year.
Maybe a high star ranked player out of high school, but is he worth a take at this point?

Bullshite. His people were on this board for a year acting like entitled sorority girls telling us the many reasons he was too good for LSU. That’s why he’s disliked, because douche canoes were setting douche canoe troll records on this board . His family and / or people around him sabotaged his reputation and made him radioactive,-not people reading this board. The onus is on him to rehabilitate his reputation as an anti LSU guy, not on people who can read all the pathetic crap the Many HS crowd posted here.

Just saw he was named Pac-12 Freshman of the week, one week. Anytime we have one of our Freshman make player of the week, that's a good sign. Looking at these 2 plays, I don't recall Penn or Speights looking this quick.

Unfortunately for your premise, Omar Speights was first team all conference at Oregon State. He was also a freshman All American in that same conference. Hard to believe but tells you about defense in that conference.

We don’t really know if Brathwaite will turn into anything yet, but this incoming class of LBs is legitimately impressive and you have Weeks. Do we really need Curtis when we need to bolster numbers on the interior DL and at CB and won’t have many open roster spots?
I’m not saying he sucks or couldn’t contribute. LB just doesn’t seem to be as big of a need as some other spots.
