How can Roy be listed as 4th best DL in the country but not be a 5 star I guess if he committed to bama he would jump up to a 5

He will likely be a 5* by the time it’s all said and done.

And some years I feel like there are a certain amount of players that could go first round in NFL draft but they don't bc there's only 32 picks... again. Same concept

Most people don’t realize that we will likely pass up clemson and end ahead of them when it’s all said and done

There are more than 32 top 32 players? Wow, it’s like relativity met superconductivity!

Because that’s how numbers work.

I wouldn’t put to much stock into where he’s ranked now or in January. These guys miss on evaluations all the time and sometimes fall in love with certain players. Example Byron Cowart was the consensus #1 player who never amounted to anything, because all those measurables meant jack shite once he put on pads on Saturdays.

Absolutely.

Yet, we need to keep in mind that 247 is not a "great" top-notch organization, too. They make mistakes all over the place.
As an example, Demarkcus Bowman is the number 2 RB and number 16 overal in 2020 class. Still, he is projected for round 2-3.
I mean, yeah, it's a fun website. But, it's not the bible!

Ratings don't mean shite. Case in point I spent time with Tre White and Jerryl Brazil. At the time, Tre was 2 star and Jerryl a 4 because of his speed. After working them out, myself and film crew all said Jerryl was a bust and Tre was going to be a star. These services, for the most part, don't know shite because they base everything on measureables and in some cases have never even watched the kids play.

Tre White ended up a 5 star on some sights a Brazil being a bust had nothing to do with his on field ability. Dude was fricking nuts.

So to illustrate how the recruiting services can be inaccurate you tell a story about Tre White, who was a 1st round pick and is having a very good NFL career so far. A player they moved from a 2* to almost a 5*.

Sounds like they nailed it.
