You know his current 40? The one highlight tape I saw on him his speed didn't look like what we usually go for at that position but it was his sophomore year.

FWIW - 40 time isn’t a good proxy for DLine. Use 10 yd split, short shuttle, something that better measures quick twitch movements and ability to change direction. You’ll very rarely, if ever, see a DLine running 40 yds straight line.

Great kid and family. Unfortunately his mom is battling cancer right now.

Justin Jefferson was a 2 star from Louisiana at one point in time
If this staff wants to take him, I trust he has the potential to be special

Let's restore that St. Amant pipeline

We have to trust the coaches on this kid, because with the limited amount of spots left 2023 and the high demand from real studs going forward, LSU has to be a bit careful. the fact that he had no other top school offers may cause us to pause, but BK has earned my trust. LSU was not desperate to fill this roster of 2023, so he must have some serious upside in coach's opinion.

I remember a few years back ND had like a run on OLB/DEs that where 6'2/6'3 250-260 range he fits that mold

We have enough spots to take every remaining target we have. Not sure why people keep saying this when it’s not true. Easily 7 open spots remain after this commitment.

Technically you are correct to say the spots for 2023 are limited however 2023 is a year which LSU has the most spots open that I can ever remember. LSU only has 71 scholarship players. So you can add 12-15 spots on top of the normal 25 per year needed because of attrition it would not surprise me if Kelly takes 30+ high school recruits this recruiting cycle.

Les Miles would have turned him into a fullback

Youtube
He has a long interview here with Lee Brecheen and within it they show clips of his play.
I can’t see how he is only a three star. He’s all muscle, tall, quick af.
