Were there a lot of people upset about this? I thought everyone was really happy to have Ware after the Army All American Game.

His play in that game earned him his 5th star.

Originally, people really watned Storm. I think it was his name.

It wasn't until people watched Ware in the AA game that things settled down. Still some bullshite posts even after that.

Not sure if you're serious, but:

he's a RB out of Buford, GA who was basically committed but the staff wanted to keep it silent until the rest of the RB situation sorted out.

But his dad didn't keep quiet and let it out that he had committed so the staff essentially broke off ties and he ended up at Miami.

He did well in the all-star game (I think offense-defense bowl?) and looked good in Miami's spring game and he had good film. Lots of folks around here really wanted him but I think most were happy with Ware at the end of the day, and certainly are right now.

At least that was my reading of the Storm Johnson story.

People tore miles up for not accepting storm's commitment.

it wasn't until the army game did people change their mind.

Most people on here did want Storm, but I don't remember anyone questioning why we took Ware.

Seems like he and his family came to LSU to force the issue (or there was "failure to comunicate"). Didn't they com eto town then leave all bent out of shape.

Right. No one questioned Ware, they questioned not taking Storm and waiting on Lache and others when they were A. not similar backs and B. not guaranteed.
Also the complaining didn't stop after the AA game Hell people were still pulling up Storm Johnson articles over the past summer.

it was more of the process that people were up in arms about. think storm and his father came down to lsu expecting to verbally commit in person and then they were turned away when they tried to do so. as someone put it earlier, it was just a mix up in communication, maybe one of those 'if-this' scholarships.

Yeah, that's what I remember. Weren't people just upset that we were slow playing Storm while waiting on Lache? It wasn't a lot of people, but it was a loud minority if I remember.

we were slow playing storm to see spencer at camp. we saw spencer, he gave the verbal. we were done with the big out of state running back. we wanted blue and a smaller back. got tired of lache and got gore. people were still pimping Johnson the rest of the summer.

the only point i'm making is we have to trust the coaches evaluation. they hit a home run with ware, t.m, reed, and it appears simon.

only reed was considered a national prospect at the beginning of the year.
